Queensland's players rebounded from the sacking of coach Stuart Law with an innings and 13-run belting of Victoria inside three days at the Gabba. Chris Lynn's 250 formed the bedrock of a major total, and the Bushrangers were unable to improve on their mediocre first innings.

Chris Rogers played with typical neatness for his 69, and Matthew Wade backed up his hundred on the first day with 58, but the Bulls bowlers worked their way steadily and evenly through the visitors' batting order.

Peter George added two wickets to the five he claimed on the opening day, while Simon Milenko's trio included Rogers and Wade, plus the talented young batsman Peter Handscomb pouched behind the wicket for a duck.

The Bulls victory concludes a period of unrest following a poor Big Bash League campaign for the Brisbane Heat, after which Law was removed from his job. There had been reports of differences between Law and the Queensland players, while the dual BBL and Shield roles have been a challenge for many coaches in recent times.
