51.4

Harmison to DPMD Jayawardene, 1 run, turned off his hip, aerially, to Sidebottom at fine-leg. Nasty delivery - this has been a very impressive day from Harmison

Back over the wicket

LPC Silva c Bell b Harmison 1 (36m 26b 0x4 0x6) SR: 3.84

That was top-class bowling from Harmison and richly deserved

Here's Dilshan returning to Test cricket

Panesar to Dilshan, 2 runs, threaded through the covers

The umpires offer the batsmen the light, and they take it. An excellent mini session for England, largely thanks to a terrific spell from Steve Harmison who finished the day with 3 for 28. It was a lively first session with England being denied a couple of wickets, but were handed two rather fortunate ones owing to dubious decisions. However, Mahela Jayawardene stood in England's way with his 31st Test fifty - and England will be desperate to remove him early tomorrow morning. That's all from me, so do join us tomorrow for the second day's play. Until then, it's a very goodnight.

End of over 55 (7 runs) Sri Lanka 147/4
TM Dilshan    7* (5b 1x4)      MS Panesar    11-1-25-0
DPMD Jayawardene    51* (129b 6x4)      SJ Harmison    13-2-28-3

11.00am And so it is time, at a cloudy Galle, for play to take place on the second day. It's a real surprise that there's any play at all, nevermind that we've only lost an hour, given the heaviness of the overnight rain. The Barmy Army are already off with Jerusalem as Steve Harmison prepares to bowl on this green and pleasant track. That nearly worked.

10.50am OK, we're ever so close to the start now, so thanks for patience. Normal service will resume as soon as possible. Just to keep you in the loop re: the chairs, they are finally being put to use. "Both teams, lots of extras, high excitement," notes Andrew. "What a sp;endid photo." So that's the end of that at last, thank goodness. The cricket can't come soon enough!

10.35am Still pretty nasty weather around and about the ground. Not like yesterday at all.

10.25am Chairwatch: "Those chairs are still there," says Andrew, justifying his air fare in five little words. "Doing nothing of note, but they are very neatly lined up." We're nothing if not thorough.

10.20am If we were a TV company, which we're not (well, in micro, we are of course owned by ESPN), then now would be timely to give you replays of yesterday's play. Instead I'll offer you this.

10.15am We're still a little way off the start so here's something to chew over regarding the proposed day-night Tests.

9.50am News just in. We will start at 11am, so that's just over an hour from now. I've got Gilchrist battering England in the Ashes at Perth last year blasting out of the tv to keep me happy. But it's about keeping you happy, of course. If you hang in there, I'll find you some fun links.

9.45am Here's Andrew again: "And now they are bringing more chairs. It's all happening out there this morning. Meanwhile, the umpires have inspected and are wandering back to the pavilion. Brace for update." Bracing.

9.30am 15 minutes to the inspection, folks, and they're taking the nets down on the practice strip, so there's movement of some sort, and the right kind, too, which always helps. And "ooh, a development," oohs Andrew. "Lots of chairs on the outfield. I think there's going to be a team photo or something."

9.15am Greetings everyone and welcome to coverage from the second day at Galle where England need a victory to draw the series. Unfortunately for them, and the crowds, their efforts will be delayed by a wet track following a monstrous storm overnight. An inspection's due in half an hour, but play won't get underway until 10.30 at the earliest.

It's the second successive day that play hasn't started on time but when it does resume - and I, Jenny Thompson, will let you know soonest when that shall be - Sri Lanka find themselves on 147 for 4 courtesy of Steve Harmison's late strikes yesterday evening.

Andrew Miller's shaken off the rain, pulled down his umbrella - it's not raining anymore - and he tells us this: "My hotel room managed to get flooded even though the doors and windows were shut! The wind blew it through the keyhole, I think." Andrew rarely uses an exclamation mark, so when he does you know it's pretty dramatic!

So, back to the match! "It's looking pretty good all things considered," Andrew continues and he means the pitch not his hotel room, "and the teams are again keen to get out there, which is good. They've been practising out on the square." Encouraging signs indeed.

I'll let you nip off for a quick cuppa now as long as you promise to return shortly when we'll have more updates for you.

Lots of the crowd wearing Santa hats which is perhaps a touch previous. Some groundstaff, without hats, run into the middle to apply the sawdust on the front crease where Sidebottom's front foot has been landing. "How many men does it take to put sawdust on the footholes? Six apparently," quips Miller. A bizarre word when you think about it, quip. Here's Sidebottom

71.2

Collingwood to Dilshan, FOUR, pushed out wide through third man, the boundaries flowing just latterly

71.3

Collingwood to Dilshan, no run, plenty of wobble for Collingwood there, curving away from off

71.4

Collingwood to Dilshan, no run, a rare defensive from Dilshan, although even that shot was with some intent, a firm press into the off side

71.5

Collingwood to Dilshan, no run, defended forward again into the off side

71.6

Collingwood to Dilshan, no run, pushed into the off side

72.3

Hoggard to Dilshan, 1 run, a touch of width, cut to point to bring up Sri Lanka's 200

72.4

Hoggard to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, left alone outside off, the batsman shouldering arms

72.5

Hoggard to DPMD Jayawardene, FOUR, another chance goes begging, Hoggard is furious, the batsman opening the face and offering a slide-and-dive catch to Prior's right

72.6

Hoggard to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, pushed right up there, defended forward in front of him

Will's very excited. Nothing new there, but this time he's excited because of three t-shirts our good friends at NippleCripple have sent us. Plastered on them are Richie Benaud, Tony Greig and Bill Lawry - a triplet of winners and firm favourites of Cricinfo. They are quite brilliant, Will says - the perfect Christmas present for anyone who likes Billy Birmingham's 12th man tapes. Will does a particularly superb impression of all three of them and, indeed, if any radio producers are looking for a voiceover artist you ought to contact him immediately.

So that's lunch on what's been Sri Lanka's short session, with England failing to get a wicket having missed several chances. The visitors, then, head into the break to regroup. Thanks for joining me this morning, do come back shortly when you will find the ship being steered by Will Luke.

Harmison to open

Welcome back everyone, Will here. We're about five minutes from getting underway, and here come the batsmen. Vaughan leads out his men, chomping on what looks like something chocolatey. England, fair to say, do not look a happy bunch.

75.1

Harmison to DPMD Jayawardene, 3 runs, good length but a bit of a floater and Jayawardene clumps it, without really timing it, to long-on

75.2

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, short and a little wide of the off stump

Incidentallly England are second in the rankings, Sri Lanka fifth. If England lose this game, those rankings will be swapped. So there you go

75.3

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, short of a length again but a tighter line, and he steps back and across to punch it out to cover

75.4

Harmison to Dilshan, 2 runs, poor delivery down the leg side, but neatly played by Dilshan who rode the bounce and clipped it smartly off his hip

75.5

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, defended on the back foot

75.6

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, he's hit him! I've got far too excited by that - Dilshan thought it was going to bounce more than it did, ducked into it and headed it into the back of the net. The net being the covers and he seems fine, too. No injury

Here's Monty

76.1

Panesar to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, smothered on the front foot

76.2

Panesar to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, flatted on middle, defended

76.3

Panesar to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, good line and length and he comes forward to block it out

76.4

Panesar to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, a little wider but Jayawardene won't be tempted into driving

76.5

Panesar to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, excellent line but very well played by Jayawardene, playing back late and defending this back to the bowler

76.6

Panesar to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, short of a length, Jayawardene cuts rather aerially but short of backward point and perfectly safely

Big Steve Harmison has just the one slip

77.1

Harmison to Dilshan, 1 wide, ooh he's bent his back there, a big bouncer and it leaps off the pitch with tennis-ball-like bounce. Very short indeed, and Prior does well to take it - leaping up high

77.1

Harmison to Dilshan, 1 no ball, a no-ball which is cracked into the covers

77.1

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, fuller this time and a good line from Harmison. Dilshan aggressively smacks it back to the bowler who is desperate to throw down his stumps, but can't collect the ball and opts instead for a gnarly stare at him

77.2

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, left alone outside off, Dilshan just dropping his hands

77.3

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, too short and wide

77.4

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, wider of the crease this time and a much better line, spearing into Dilshan who defends

77.5

Harmison to Dilshan, 1 run, flicked to mid-on; Bopara dives to stop and throws down the stumps as the batsmen take a sharp single. Terrific energy from Bopara. He missed, but still - excellent commitment

Mind you, Bopara's only just out of nappies. Of course he has energy

77.6

Harmison to DPMD Jayawardene, 1 run, flicked down to fine-leg

Monty's around the wicket, as ever

78.1

Panesar to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, fired in flat and fast, nudged to leg

78.2

Panesar to DPMD Jayawardene, 2 runs, better length (and indeed pace) from Monty, tossed up outside off. An elegant, lackadaisical drive yields a couple through the covers

78.3

Panesar to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, a walking defensive, knocking it back to the bowler

78.4

Panesar to DPMD Jayawardene, 1 run, another irritatingly short delivery which is cut past point for more easy runs

78.5

Panesar to Dilshan, no run, left alone outside off - the arm ball, I reckon. Prior says "aww"

78.6

Panesar to Dilshan, no run, confidently forward with a big lunge, pushing this wider ball out to cover

79.1

Harmison to DPMD Jayawardene, 1 run, calmly turned down to fine leg with a flick of the wrists

79.2

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, loose bouncer down the leg side which is ducked beneath comfortably

79.3

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, pushed to the leg side

79.4

Harmison to Dilshan, 1 leg bye, and he's hit him again. A rather confident stroke from Dilshan who is hit on the helmet trying to pull. Again he jogs through for a single seemingly oblivious to, well, everything

79.5

Harmison to DPMD Jayawardene, 1 leg bye, ooh a huge appeal from Harmison who finds one to nip back sharply on the right hander. Harper is unmoved. Not a bad shout at all

79.6

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, an angry Harmison fires down a quick bouncer but it's down the leg side

The new ball has been taken and Sidebottom has it in his grubby hands. Two slips and a fourth slip, backward point

80.1

Sidebottom to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, Sidebottom starts with a stray down the leg side. Prior adopts it to his left

80.2

Sidebottom to DPMD Jayawardene, 1 run, on his legs, turned through midwicket

80.3

Sidebottom to Dilshan, 2 leg byes, the first sign of swing with the new cherry but, unfortunately for England, it swings down the leg side and is helped on its way by the pad of Dilshan

80.4

Sidebottom to Dilshan, no run, half a shout from Sidebottom - perhaps three-quarters of a shout, in fact - as he finds more big inswing to the right hander, but it's clearly going down the leg side

80.5

Sidebottom to Dilshan, FOUR, more swing, and very close to bowling him there. The ball bent back markedly on Dilshan who clamped down on it at the last moment, inside edging it past his leg stump and down to fine-leg

11 Test fifty for Dilshan on his return, 81 balls

80.6

Sidebottom to Dilshan, no run, what a jaffa - so good that it deserves an exclamation mark! A cracker, swinging and seaming back into Dilshan who is beaten all ends up, the ball missing his bat by an inch and flicking the top of his pad

Excellent over and encouraging movement with the new ball

It's 08.08am in the UK. Good morning and welcome. Here comes Hoggard, replacing Harmison, with the new ball. Hoggard jogs in but pulls out of his delivery stride...no damage or injury, he's just misplaced his feet (as it were)

81.1

Hoggard to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, swinging away from the right hander at the last minute. Touch too wide though

81.2

Hoggard to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, raps Jayawardene on the pads - England roar an appeal but it's going down the leg side. It looked plumb initially but replays prove Harper was on the money for that decision, Jayawardene saved by late inswing

81.3

Hoggard to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, away-swing this time which is left alone

81.4

Hoggard to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, pushed out to cover off the back foot

81.5

Hoggard to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, swinging away from the right hander

82.1

Sidebottom to Dilshan, 2 runs, a leg-stump line, nudged to midwicket

82.2

Sidebottom to Dilshan, no run, crikey, a huge wide from Sidebottom fired wide of the off stump

82.3

Sidebottom to Dilshan, 1 run, dropped! england are having a mare in the field. A thick outside edge to Prior who dived to his right but only got a finger to it, palming into Bell's ankles at first slip. Oh dear

Oh double dear. That wasn't too clever - he just didn't appear to move quick enough

82.4

Sidebottom to DPMD Jayawardene, 1 run, blocked out on the back foot

England really haven't helped their cause today. Catch after catch is being shelled

82.5

Sidebottom to Dilshan, no run, big indipping movement from Sidebottom - a cracking delivery which bends back on Dilshan. Prior, rather desperately you feel, roars an appeal. Sidebottom does not

82.6

Sidebottom to Dilshan, no run, nudged off the pad

83.2

Hoggard to DPMD Jayawardene, 1 run, oh well run. Dropped out to the off side and they scamper through for a very well-run single

182 balls for their hundred partnership. Well done them

83.3

Hoggard to Dilshan, no run, excellent delivery on off stump which is cautiously defended

83.4

Hoggard to Dilshan, no run, another beauty, straightening on Dilshan at the last moment who plays it very well, and late, blocking it out very solidly

83.5

Hoggard to Dilshan, no run, lovely line outside off, holding its line and it's well left

83.6

A couple of you have emailed in, deprived of exclamation marks, but I'm please to say Andrew can provide us with one. "There's a whale at a very, very deep extra cover!" he says. "As in a real, sea-faring, water-spouting whale."

84.1

Sidebottom to DPMD Jayawardene, 1 run, cutting back into the right hander who defends

"It's just pottering," Miller says of the whale - no stranger to pottering himself, is young Miller - "along the coast in its big blubbery manner. Probably about 500 yards off the coast."

84.2

Sidebottom to Dilshan, no run, defended on the back foot

84.3

Sidebottom to Dilshan, no run, bending back into the right hander who leaves it alone outside his off stump

84.4

Sidebottom to Dilshan, 1 run, swinging back into Jayawardene who blocks it out

84.5

85.2

Hoggard to Dilshan, FOUR, horrid delivery, down the leg side and elegantly flicked through midwicket

85.3

Hoggard to Dilshan, no run, great comeback from Hoggard who produces a beauty, swinging away at the last moment and beating him

85.4

Hoggard to Dilshan, 2 runs, Dilshan's been hit on the helmet again. He loves it - it's clearly a tactic

85.5

Hoggard to Dilshan, 1 run, oh that's so annoying for England as he drops this out to cover for a single

85.6

86.2

Sidebottom to Dilshan, 1 run, another cheeky single to cover

86.3

Sidebottom to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, defended out to the off side

"I suddenly realised," says the wonderfully named Chan Fonseka, "whom Sidebottom reminds me of. Eric Idle!"

86.4

Sidebottom to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, guided out to cover

86.5

Sidebottom to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, left alone outside off

86.6

Sidebottom to DPMD Jayawardene, 3 runs, beautifully driven on the front foot to extra cover. Alastair Cook gives chase and his hat falls off. Gnasher reckons that should be five, as the ball hit it...and he's right too

Hoggard to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, splendid away swing but again too wide

87.4

Hoggard to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, this cuts back on the right hander but it's still wide enough to be left alone

88.3

Sidebottom to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, pushed across the batsman again, left alone

88.4

Sidebottom to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, slightly closer to off stump, Jayawardene feels for it but doesn't make contact

88.5

Sidebottom to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, swinging down the leg side, Prior skips across to take

89.2

Hoggard to Dilshan, no run, down the leg side and it takes a glove from Dilshan, Prior leaps to his left and pouches it one-handed and keeps hold as he tumbles to the floor...but Daryl Harper hasn't given it, and England can't quite believe it

89.3

Hoggard to Dilshan, 1 run, jabbed into the leg side

89.4

Hoggard to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, full and outside off stump, makes a late decision to let it go

89.5

Hoggard to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, again in the channel outside off stump, a well judged leave

90.1

Sidebottom to Dilshan, no run, left alone outside off

"Prior's been exceptional diving to his left in this series," Andrew says. "He took another screamer at Kandy that wasn't given out. But diving to his right ... he's had two misses here, and three in the India series."

90.2

Sidebottom to Dilshan, no run, too wide and left alone

90.3

Sidebottom to Dilshan, no run, better delivery this time, bending back into the batsman who is forced to defend

It really was a belting catch from Prior, diving full length to his left. "All remarkably similar," says Andrew, "and four of them off Sidebottom. I have been geeking."

90.4

Sidebottom to Dilshan, 1 leg bye, drifting down the leg side and clipped to fine leg

90.5

Harmison's back into the attack

91.1

Harmison to Dilshan, 1 run, drifting down the leg side and clipped to deep square leg. Monty fields with typical lamb-like exuberance

91.2

Harmison to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, wide enough of the off stump to be left alone

91.3

Harmison to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, much fuller length but again the batsman can leave this comfortably alone

91.4

Harmison to DPMD Jayawardene, FOUR, driven in the air but past gully and down to third man. Again, Jayawardene didn't really get to the pitch of the delivery but...with such a good eye, he controlled it sufficiently

91.5

Harmison to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, a beauty from Harmison who cannot believe his misfortune. Cutting back into the right hander who left it alone at the last minute - very nearly losing his off bail in the process

91.6

Harmison to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, tighter line again - good bowling, this, and it's cut out to cover

92.2

Bopara to Dilshan, no run, swinging into the right hander who nudges to leg

92.3

Bopara to Dilshan, no run, swinging down the leg side and he tries to whip it to midwicket but can't time it

92.4

Bopara to Dilshan, no run, nice line and length - and quicker too. An excellent delivery from Bopara. Left alone but that's the length from Bopara

92.5

Bopara to Dilshan, 3 runs, too easy for the batsman, on a leg-stump line and easily nudged for a single

Harmison to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, too full; too wide of the off stump and easily ignored

Good grief. Come on Harmy

93.4

Harmison to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, miles wide of the off stump

Hurrah. Fatima has emailed. "England should badly win this match," she says. "Who wants Sri Lanka to win? England is the best team in the world." Hmm.

93.5

TM Dilshan    70* (117b 9x4)      RS Bopara    3-0-9-0

Right here's Bopara

94.1

Bopara to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, outside off, guided to cover

94.2

Bopara to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, well bowled! He plays and misses at this wider delivery outside the off stump - excellent, clever bowling

94.3

Bopara to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, and another, drags him forward and he plays and misses

94.4

Bopara to DPMD Jayawardene, 1 run, a touch of bounce here which spits on the batsman who fends it away

94.5

Bopara to Dilshan, 2 runs, right up in the blockhole, it's crunched out to cover. Monty runs round like a ballerina on ice - looks rather slippery on the outfield, either that or he's auditioning for Strictly Come Dancing

94.6

Bopara to Dilshan, 1 run, too short, pulled to midwicket but without really timing it

End of over 95 (4 runs) Sri Lanka 272/4
TM Dilshan    73* (119b 9x4)      RS Bopara    4-0-13-0
DPMD Jayawardene    95* (257b 9x4)      SJ Harmison    23-3-56-3

95.1

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, horrid, misdirected bouncer down the leg side

95.2

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, gentle pace outside off, left alone

95.3

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, quicker this time, and a much fuller length. Clobbered to mid-on

95.4

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, on his legs, again punched to mid-on, again he can't find the gap

This is redefining tedium

95.5

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, wide, wide, wide of the off stump and left alone. Couldn't have reached it with a telescopic bat

95.6

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, a swing and a miss. Had he connected, that was headed for the ocean

End of over 96 (maiden) Sri Lanka 272/4
TM Dilshan    73* (125b 9x4)      SJ Harmison    24-4-56-3
DPMD Jayawardene    95* (257b 9x4)      RS Bopara    4-0-13-0

96.1

Bopara to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, a little too wide, again

96.2

Bopara to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, left alone

96.3

Bopara to DPMD Jayawardene, 3 runs, angled down to third man

96.4

Bopara to Dilshan, 1 run, nudged into the covers

96.5

Bopara to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, wide, and swinging wider still

96.6

Bopara to DPMD Jayawardene, no run, better line this time on the off stump and it's firmly blocked out

End of over 97 (4 runs) Sri Lanka 276/4
DPMD Jayawardene    98* (262b 9x4)      RS Bopara    5-0-17-0
TM Dilshan    74* (126b 9x4)      SJ Harmison    24-4-56-3

97.1

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, another leg-side bouncer

97.2

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, short and much too wide

97.3

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, guided out to cover

97.4

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, down the leg side

97.5

Harmison to Dilshan, no run, he shapes to play at this but instead watches it sail past

97.6

Harmison to Dilshan, FOUR, that's a heck of a shot! He has absolutely cracked this, on the up, through the covers for four. Steve Waugh-esque

Talking of grizzly Australians, here's Jennifer. Aw, mate! That Will, he's a card. Here's Panesar back into the attack.

End of over 98 (4 runs) Sri Lanka 280/4
TM Dilshan    78* (132b 10x4)      SJ Harmison    25-4-60-3
DPMD Jayawardene    98* (262b 9x4)      RS Bopara    5-0-17-0

98.1

Panesar to DPMD Jayawardene, 1 run, tucked off the legs to bring up his... 99

98.2

Panesar to Dilshan, no run, oh, pushed it past the pad, Dilshan padding up but missing

98.3

Panesar to Dilshan, no run, outside off, curves wider, padded up again

98.4

Panesar to Dilshan, 2 runs, paddled round off the legs, a fine (positionally, and delicate) sweep out to Harmison

98.5

Panesar to Dilshan, FOUR, oh, another chance again, that would have been an incredible reaction catch in between first and second slip. That raced away, the fielder had little chance

"It's in the air again though, boys," is what I'd say if I were out there

98.6

Panesar to Dilshan, no run, turned round the corner

Bopara's now back on, a change of ends for him so he finds himself at the Fort End

End of over 99 (7 runs) Sri Lanka 287/4
TM Dilshan    84* (137b 11x4)      MS Panesar    17-2-41-0
DPMD Jayawardene    99* (263b 9x4)      SJ Harmison    25-4-60-3

99.1

Bopara to DPMD Jayawardene, OUT, push down off the back foot towards the slips and Dilshan sets off like lightning... but Jayawardene will have to wait to see if he's made his hundred as an underarm shy from Cook could have run him out. There's a long delay in fact because it's such a tight call, and different angles are being called for. And that's out! Poor Dilshan, trying to get Jayawardene to the hundred and misses out on the chance for his own. Incidentally, Rauf wasn't square on to that, he was standing just forward of square leg

TM Dilshan run out 84 (218m 137b 11x4 0x6) SR: 61.31

So Jayawardene still in sight of his hundred, while the bowlers are still yet to get a wicket today. It's Prasanna Jayawardene, no relation, to bat now.

99.2

Bopara to HAPW Jayawardene, no run, presses down a solid forward defence first up

99.3

Bopara to HAPW Jayawardene, no run, driven back to the bowler this time

99.4

Bopara to HAPW Jayawardene, OUT, Bopara strikes! This is his first Test wicket, and it's a good one, Prasanna has troubled England this series

HAPW Jayawardene c †Prior b Bopara 0 (1m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

So often one brings two. The players head off, which must mean it's tea and England will be happier now heading into the break, while Jayawardene has to wait on for his century.

Right then, we're ready to roll again, hope you are too. Bopara to finish off the two balls remaining in this over.

99.5

Bopara to Vaas, no run, pushed across the left hander, left alone

99.6

Bopara to Vaas, no run, straight and ran on to him a touch faster than he was expecting, a late jab

Sidebottom back into the attack to niggle away at the new batsman, but first it's Jayawardene

End of over 100 (wicket maiden) Sri Lanka 287/6
WPUJC Vaas    0* (2b)      RS Bopara    6-1-17-1
