Darryl Bridgeman plays his club cricket with Atherton in the Cairns competition. He returns to representative cricket after an absence of some years for in the season of 1990-91 he represented Queensland Country Colts and then Queensland Colts in the Sydney Gregory Cup match against New South Wales Colts. In that season he was also a member of the Queensland Country team for the National Championships played in Townsville, in three matches batting once for four runs and capturing four wickets for 92. In 1996-97 he appeared for Cairns Invitation XI against the visiting New Zealand team. He was educated at a number of primary schools throughout Queensland and at Malanda High School. On leaving school he worked on a farm but more recently completed a carpentry apprenticeship and now operates his own business in the Atherton area. Bridgeman's availability to play cricket was somewhat restricted in his years as an apprentice and also he spent a couple of years working on Thursday Island. (Warwick Torrens, December 1999)
