MiWAY T20 Challenge - 37th match
No result
16 March 2012 - night match (20-over match)

Good day and welcome to the Wanderers in Johannesburg for this Miway T20 encounter between the top-of-the-table Lions and the luckless Dolphins. The Dolphins have had rain force a no result in 4 of their 10 fixtures to date in the competition which means that they found themselves 5th on the log. It has been a damp day with drizzling since early this morning. But goodish news is that the sun has tried to peep through the clouds during the past hour or so and we are due to start on time at 6pm local time. News from the middle is that the Dolphins have won the toss and have elected to bowl first. The visiting Dolphins team have one change at the top of their line up. Ahmed Amla comes in for Loots Bosman who has scored a dismal 61 runs in 6 innings this season. The rampant Lions side remains unchanged from their victory against the Wanderers last Wednesday evening. Umpires Murray Brown and Adrian Holdstock make their way to the middle. It will be spin first up from the Corlett Drive end.

Consultation between the umpires now. It appears that that could be the end of the game. This pitch is unplayable. Waiting for official confirmation but it would seem as if it will be 2 points a side. One has to feel for the Dolphins in this situation. This will be the 5th game in their season that has been abandoned and ended in a no result. We are still waiting for official confirmation... Lions coach, Dave Nosworthy is having an animated discussion with groundsman Chris Scott. It appears that the game has been called off by the umpires. Certain players and coaches are still waiting in the players dug out. Confusion reigns at the Wanderers! We have official confirmation. The game has been called off due to the pitch being unplayable due to the adverse weather conditions in the past few days. This situation means that the Lions increase their lead by 2 at the top of the table. Thats it from me, Rob Sewell. Until next time, cheers!
