Great bowling but hardly the best. Stats surely do not support that assumption but then Clarkes tail is up and great that he believes in his team mates so much. i admire that.

Clarke is doing the right thing by talking up his side's strengths. No retreat and no surrender should be the teams atitudes with no prizes and no excuses for being second best. This is not an arrogant atitude but the only way to tackle the undisputed number 1 test side.

Admittedly the aussies bowlers dominated the england batsmen during the ashes, but one series against one opponent definitely can't make you the best, good maybe but not the best.

Can you say being complacent. A long time ago Smith did a simular thing back when he was very young and South Africa went on to lose that series. So Smith learnt it was probably not wise to ever say that and quickly learnt his lesson. Now he doesn't really say anything that can make him look like a fool, I guess you learn that with age and being wise.

he has set himself up to be asked that question after every game, particularly if south africa wins

Best bowling in the world. A premature comment.
