  • Overs 51-100
  • Overs 101-150
1.2

Sreesanth to Petersen, FOUR, the first boundary of the match, Sreesanth strays onto legstump, easy put away for Petersen who moves across and whips it past forward short leg

South Africa 7/0   AN Petersen 6* (7b 1x4)   S Sreesanth 0.2-0-5-0
1.4

Sreesanth to Petersen, FOUR, shot! Petersen has shown in this series he is a great driver of the ball, Sreesanth pitches this one up, Petersen gets forward confidently and cracks it between the bowler and mid-off for four

South Africa 11/0   AN Petersen 10* (9b 2x4)   S Sreesanth 0.4-0-9-0
10.1

Khan to Petersen, FOUR, Zaheer starts from round the stumps and serves a gentle full-pitched delivery on the leg and middle line. Alviro flicks it neatly through midwicket. Nicely done.

South Africa 27/1   AN Petersen 18* (36b 3x4)   Z Khan 5.1-2-11-1
11.2

Sharma to Amla, FOUR, Stylish flick. Juicy full toss on the pads and Amla wrists it to the backward square-leg boundary.

South Africa 31/1   HM Amla 6* (16b 1x4)   I Sharma 1.2-0-6-0
14.2

Khan to Amla, FOUR, edged past the stumps! That angle is causing some problems for Amla. This one came in from round the stumps angle and Amla stabbed outside the line. The ball flew of the edge to fine-leg boundary

South Africa 38/2   HM Amla 10* (25b 2x4)   Z Khan 7.2-2-18-1
17.6

Sharma to Amla, FOUR, edged and safe. Ishant gets a touch of away seam movement and a little extra bounce outside off. Amla was playing back to a back of good length ball and went at it with hard hands. The deviation ensured it took the edge, but it flew through the gully area, safely for four

South Africa 49/2   HM Amla 20* (41b 3x4)   I Sharma 5-1-11-1
18.2

Sreesanth to Kallis, FOUR, Majestic from Kallis! Sree continues to search for seam movement, presents the upright seam on a length and gets it to go away, but Kallis is in position in a flash. He goes back and across, presses forward and smacks it with the full face through the covers. That's bulleted through the covers

South Africa 53/2   JH Kallis 5* (11b 1x4)   S Sreesanth 4.2-0-18-0
18.6

Sreesanth to Kallis, FOUR, Sree ends the over with a generous New Year gift for Kallis who gobbles it down without saying Thank You. Sprayed onto the pads, Kallis gets inside the line and swishes it away with a neat glance down to fine leg

South Africa 57/2   JH Kallis 9* (15b 2x4)   S Sreesanth 5-0-22-0
21.1

Khan to Amla, FOUR, Amla welcomes him with an easy boundary. Zaheer floats in a rather stiff and slow half volley on off stump. Amla did not have much to do, but what little he had to, he did in style. Leans out and crisply square drives it for four

South Africa 65/2   HM Amla 26* (49b 4x4)   Z Khan 9.1-2-28-1
21.2

Khan to Amla, FOUR, Tendulkar dives over it at mid-on. Don't think India were really ready for such a quick resumption. Zak gets this one to nip into Amla, who adjusts well and on-drives. Sachin puts in a languid dive over the ball and lets it through

South Africa 70/2   HM Amla 30* (51b 5x4)   Z Khan 9.2-2-33-1
21.3

Khan to Amla, FOUR, all intent from South Africa. This time, no help from thre bowler or fielders, Amla makes it happen. Over-pitched on middle and leg, and he clips it away to the right of Tendulkar who did not have a chance to stop it this time.

South Africa 74/2   HM Amla 34* (52b 6x4)   Z Khan 9.3-2-37-1
24.4

Sreesanth to Amla, FOUR, that shot is a crash-course in the art of cover driving. Sree lands this on the driving length outside off, and despite the away swing, Amla's feet were in place for the shot early. But there was a packed cover cordon to be eluded. What does Amla do? Instead of driving through the line, he opens the face and with a late flourish of the wrists guides it squarer between cover and point. Classy.

South Africa 84/2   HM Amla 41* (62b 7x4)   S Sreesanth 7.4-0-30-0
24.6

Sreesanth to Amla, FOUR, part two in the crash-course. Another over-pitched offerinf from Sree, this time on middle and over and curving away. Amla reaches across, but doesn't overdo the forward and across movement. He stays beside the line and opens the face to drill it through the covers. More textbook, just as awesome to watch.

South Africa 88/2   HM Amla 45* (64b 8x4)   S Sreesanth 8-0-34-0
26.5

Sreesanth to Amla, FOUR, edged and just wide of Laxman at second slip. Sree gets the away movement going, very subtle and god enough to get the outside edge as Amla drives without moving forward and across. But the edge flies through safe.

South Africa 104/2   HM Amla 58* (72b 9x4 1x6)   S Sreesanth 8.5-0-46-0
31.2

Khan to de Villiers, FOUR, Lock, stock and two smoking barrels! Zaheer is searching for the swing and getting it, but AB's not bothered by it this time. This was full on off and coming into him, as he pressed forward and drove it straight back past Zaheer. Top shot

South Africa 115/3   AB de Villiers 8* (12b 1x4)   Z Khan 14.2-3-52-1
35.2

Harbhajan Singh to de Villiers, FOUR, top timing from AB. Another short ball from Harbhajan, turning in from well outside off and AB managed to force it against the spin off the backfoot through point for four.

South Africa 123/3   AB de Villiers 13* (24b 2x4)   Harbhajan Singh 1.2-0-5-0
40.2

Sharma to Kallis, FOUR, and Ishant lets the pressure fizzle away with a poor delivery. Full, on the pads, Kallis has put away several of these in his career and refuses to waste the opportunity. Creamed for four through midwicket

South Africa 133/3   JH Kallis 28* (64b 3x4)   I Sharma 9.2-2-22-1
41.6

Harbhajan Singh to de Villiers, FOUR, cracked away through the covers. That wasn't over-pitched from Harbhajan. It was on a length outside off and turning in, and it drew AB into the drive. And what a drive it was, he powered it with the full face through the covers

South Africa 141/3   AB de Villiers 20* (47b 3x4)   Harbhajan Singh 5-0-16-0
44.1

Sharma to Kallis, FOUR, Kallis steals four. Ishant's bowled all sorts of variations in this spell, and this is another inducker, but it went too far in. Kallis got inside the line and tucked it away very fine for four.

South Africa 149/3   JH Kallis 38* (75b 4x4)   I Sharma 11.1-2-29-1
52.1

Sreesanth to Kallis, FOUR, Edged past the second slip. It was a length delivery outside off and kicked up even as it moved away. Kallis followed it and got the thick edge. Even if there was a third slip it wouldn't have carried to him

South Africa 169/4   JH Kallis 54* (100b 5x4)   S Sreesanth 14.1-0-56-2
58.2

Khan to Prince, FOUR, Edged through the gap between second slip and gully. It flew high above the slip cordon and around the fourth-fifth slip I reckon. It landed outside off and moved away with bounce. Prince hung his bat out to dry there. He played well away from the body and it was just a weak waft. The ball flew high and wide of any fielders.

South Africa 184/4   AG Prince 10* (27b 1x4)   Z Khan 15.2-3-56-1
61.2

Harbhajan Singh to Prince, FOUR, gets down on his knees and paddles this delivery to fine-leg region

South Africa 195/4   AG Prince 14* (37b 2x4)   Harbhajan Singh 14.2-1-40-0
61.5

Harbhajan Singh to Prince, FOUR, skips down the track and smashes it over Kallis and to the straight boundary! Neatly done. Kallis went down in a hurry to evade that

South Africa 199/4   AG Prince 18* (40b 3x4)   Harbhajan Singh 14.5-1-44-0
67.6

Harbhajan Singh to Kallis, FOUR, shortish and down the leg side, Kallis opens up his stance and crashes it to the fine-leg boundary.

South Africa 216/4   JH Kallis 73* (146b 6x4)   Harbhajan Singh 18-1-55-0
76.2

Harbhajan Singh to Prince, FOUR, Nice. Really nice. Harbhajan flighted that one above the eye level but it was a over-pitched delivery and Prince leaned across to caress it through extra cover.

South Africa 236/4   AG Prince 32* (77b 4x4)   Harbhajan Singh 19.2-2-59-0
76.4

Harbhajan Singh to Prince, FOUR, Crunched! He loves those back-foot punches. Prince shifts his weight back and punched the short-of-length delivery through cover point

South Africa 242/4   AG Prince 38* (79b 5x4)   Harbhajan Singh 19.4-2-65-0
77.2

Sharma to Kallis, FOUR, Marvellous! Kallis takes a big positive stride forward and drove it well to the left of mid-off. High front elbow and all that jazz.

South Africa 248/4   JH Kallis 86* (178b 7x4)   I Sharma 17.2-3-43-1
81.3

Sharma to Prince, FOUR, Good delivery but edged past gully. It landed on a good length around the off stump line and seamed away. Prince stabbed it of the outer edge and it rolled along the ground and well to the right of diving Sehwag at gully

South Africa 258/4   AG Prince 43* (89b 6x4)   I Sharma 19.3-4-51-1
85.3

Sreesanth to Kallis, FOUR, tries to get this one to swing from the middle stump line but Kallis is quick on the front foot and drives neatly to mid-on where Tendulkar makes a royal mess of a regulation stop.

South Africa 268/6   JH Kallis 95* (204b 8x4)   S Sreesanth 22.3-0-77-4
85.4

Sreesanth to Kallis, FOUR, Whippy whip! Stylish. He moves to 99 with a firm flick through midwicket. Sreesanth was looking for swing but ends up over pitching it and Kallis makes him pay.

South Africa 272/6   JH Kallis 99* (205b 9x4)   S Sreesanth 22.4-0-81-4
87.2

Sreesanth to Morkel, (no ball) FOUR, Slasher Morne! It was on a length outside off and he threw his bat at it . The ball flew over gully

South Africa 279/7   M Morkel 4* (6b 1x4)   S Sreesanth 23.1-0-88-4
87.4

Sreesanth to Morkel, FOUR, almost caught by Pujara at third man. It was the short delivery outside off and Morne went for the cut but it flew of the top edge to third man. Pujara rushed across to his right and dived but couldn't hold on to a very tough chance. Dean Jones might have got to it.

South Africa 283/7   M Morkel 8* (9b 2x4)   S Sreesanth 23.4-0-92-4
92.1

Sharma to Kallis, FOUR, Crashed! It was a short of length delivery outside off and he arched back to create his own room and flayed it past backward point

South Africa 293/8   JH Kallis 107* (219b 10x4)   I Sharma 21.1-5-56-1
92.5

Sharma to Kallis, FOUR, Whack! Crunchy pull. It was the bouncer but Kallis swivels nicely to pull it hard to the square-leg boundary where Gambhir makes a mess. He seemed to have had it covered but didn't time his drive well. Fine shot from Jacques

South Africa 297/8   JH Kallis 111* (223b 11x4)   I Sharma 21.5-5-60-1
95.6

Khan to Kallis, FOUR, Smashed! It was a full-length delivery outside off and Kallis hammered it to the left of mid-off.

South Africa 308/8   JH Kallis 117* (229b 12x4)   Z Khan 25-6-70-2
99.4

Khan to Kallis, FOUR, Zaheer goes for the leg-stump bouncer and Kallis swivels to pull it to the backward square-leg boundary. Ishant throws in a dive but is unable to cut it

South Africa 318/9   JH Kallis 125* (236b 13x4)   Z Khan 26.4-6-78-2
99.6

Khan to Kallis, FOUR, Thump! Kallis is on the bike here. It wasn't a full delivery but he just knifed through the line on the up. He took one forward step and smashed this in the air but well to the right of mid-off

South Africa 322/9   JH Kallis 129* (238b 14x4)   Z Khan 27-6-82-2
102.4

Sharma to Kallis, FOUR, Edged but there is just a solitary slip standing very wide. It was a good delivery that straightened outside off and Kallis jabs it off the outer edge. It flies between Dhoni and that wide slip

South Africa 333/9   JH Kallis 138* (246b 15x4)   I Sharma 26.4-6-76-2
104.2

Sreesanth to Kallis, FOUR, gentle bouncer at gentle pace - 116 kph - doesn't trouble Kallis even though there are two men back for the pull. He bisects deep square leg and fine leg for the first boundary of the session

South Africa 339/9   JH Kallis 144* (255b 16x4)   S Sreesanth 27.2-0-103-5
106.5

Sreesanth to Kallis, FOUR, Kallis, take a bow! The field comes in for the last couple of balls. What does Kallis do? He flexes his muscles and powers a length ball just outside off through cover-point. Despatched with disdain, this is driving India mad.

South Africa 346/9   JH Kallis 149* (268b 17x4)   S Sreesanth 28.5-0-110-5
106.6

Sreesanth to Kallis, FOUR, Boy, Kallis is unstoppable! He doesn't try to take a single off the last ball. There are three men close in on the off side looking to deny that. Kallis again opens up the off side and smashes it through all of them, who had barely completed their walk-in as it whistled past them and through to the boundary. The force is with South Africa. 350 up.

South Africa 350/9   JH Kallis 153* (269b 18x4)   S Sreesanth 29-0-114-5
108.6

Khan to Kallis, FOUR, you can set any field you want to Kallis. Right now, it does not matter. He's batting with a side strain. With No. 11. With the field back. Against one of the best fast bowlers in the game now. And he toys with him. Short ball yes, but there is an army of fielders on the leg side boundary to save the pull. Kallis finds a way to elude all of them, essaying the shot a little late to get it square of midwicket, but in front of square leg. A joy to watch.

South Africa 356/9   JH Kallis 158* (278b 19x4)   Z Khan 28-6-86-2
