Virat Kohli, and not Rohit Sharma, will open the innings with M Vijay. Parnell has the new ball

Nithin brings in the IPL angle: "Some new Millionaires are out here to prove their worth..If they shine their Franchise Owners will be the most happiest people."

Makhaya Ntini walks out on to the field and acknowledges the loud applause from the crowd. The teams come out now.

Mike Haysman on Ten Cricket catches up with Ntini who says: "Nervousness and excitement, both. Last game. I want it to go alright. I want to be remembered for contributing to cricket over the years. Smiling always is the name of the game. Going out with a bang is what I want to do."

While we wait for the game to start, you can get the latest from the IPL auction as it unfolds.

Firdose: "Moses Mabhida is electric. The sound system is pumping out a fusion of western and Bollywood hits. People are streaming in waiting to see history in the making. The team from 1991 were just honoured and the cheers showed just how important readmission was."

MS Dhoni wins the toss, and India will bat. "Doesn't make much of a difference on this wicket, the toss. It was difficult for the Test players to adjust so quickly to the shorter format. We'll look to bat and hope to put pressure on the opposition. Sachin, Zaheer, Harbhajan and Sreesanth are resting."

Botha: "We would have also batted. I think 130-140 should be chaseable. We have a strong batting line-up. We have had two days to prepare for the game. I have never played here before. Looks to be an amazing stadium. Tsotsobe misses out."

Shaun Pollock says it will be tough to hit across the line on this wicket because of the expected low bounce. There are hundreds of small cracks due to the large clay content but Pollock reckons it should be alright. Around 125 should be a good total, he says.

The pitch was laid after the World Cup semi-final last year. There is a lot of clay in it. Lots of rolling has been done, and the groundstaff think the bounce should be okay. The surface looks rock-hard. The square boundaries are a touch short at 55 metres, and Mike Haysman on air doing the pitch report says that the surface will test both bowlers and batsmen.

Firdose Moonda, our South Africa correspondent at the ground, is pumped up with the atmosphere. "This is just history happening, right here."

Hello and welcome to our coverage of the only Twenty20 between India and South Africa at the imposing Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, the ground that hosted the football World Cup last year. The stadium is on its way to becoming as synonymous with Durban as the Opera House is with Sydney, feels Sid Monga. It's a special day for Makhaya Ntini. It's his farewell game, and he will run in for South Africa for one last time. What a performer and entertainer he has been, the man who brought a smile to everyone's face, writes Sid Monga. And fittingly, a record crowd is expected for the match, as Firdose Moonda points out in her preview.
