Pakistan allrounders Shoaib Malik and Abdul Razzaq have been ruled out of the South Africa tour with injuries and will return home immediately. The tour selection committee hasn't asked for replacements, reducing the squad to 15 members from 17.

While Razzaq injured his hamstring while training, Malik aggravated the finger injury he picked up in the second T20 against South Africa in Dubai. He was struck by a rising delivery from Wayne Parnell.

"The decision was taken by the tour selection committee after consultation with the team's doctor and a South African doctor," the PCB said in a statement. "Razzaq suffered from a severe hamstring injury while training the day before yesterday while Malik's hand injury was exacerbated because of the travel stress. The tour selection committee has not asked for replacements."

Both players were retained for Pakistan's tour of South Africa even though they failed to impress during the T20 series in the UAE. Razzaq was recalled since being dropped after the 2012 World T20 in Sri Lanka following his outburst against captain Mohammad Hafeez which fetched him a fine of Rs 1 lakh.

Abdul Razzaq should most definitely get another chance. Although I do know that he is injured and cannot play but I think when he recovers they should definitely select him for the upcoming series angainst the Sri Lankan lions in both ODI and T20's. Shohaib Malik however, I think shouldn't get another chance simply because he's had too many chances and hasn't performed. Such as the Champions trophy this year, which I thought Afridi should've been selected instead of Malik.

Posted by roook on (November 23, 2013, 20:11 GMT)

Shoaib Malik or Shahid Afridi we need to make choice between them. Malik average 30 in ODI so he is technically a lower order batsman at which Afridi bats but he is a average bowler. Including both of them in same team will put lot of allrounders in the team. Professinal teams go with two allrounderatmost we needs specialist batsman not part timers.

What an appalling and pathetic selection of old, non-performing players. Why don't the selectors take a page out of the Indian Selection Committee and give young players a chance.

The SA tour was a golden opportunity to rebuild the Pakistani cricket team with fresh legs. Sethi and company have squandered this golden opportunity.

Why Hafeez, Afridi, Razzak and Malik are part of the team, Pakistani fans are at a loss to explain. We don't need Misbah or Younis in T20 team; they are all too old to play this format.

We need fresh legs like Hammad Azam, Harris, Shan, and Khurram in the squad. It is the batting that has failed stupid. It is time for the Selection Committee to realize it!

With a few exceptions, please note every time a fresh, young player is introduced, he has performed. The Selection Committee should make a note of it.

Posted by   on (November 21, 2013, 4:54 GMT)

We also need our own Pakistani Coaches like 2 W's, Inzi bhai, Miandad, Mohsin Khan, Saqlain, Basit Ali etc etc to train our talented players. We have got very much talent in our country but what we need is just to select the best and polish them so that they can perform and rule the world like Indian cricket team. We can be the best team than India but we just have to remove our mistakes as soon as possible. Werna log cricket khelna chhorh dengey mere bhai..

Posted by   on (November 21, 2013, 4:49 GMT)

No doubt Muhammad Hafeez is a captain or a vice captain of our team, but if he is not perfornming than why are we still giving him a chance? He must be punished like others. Whole team changes but nobody even think of giving him rest for a series or even 2-3 matches. his position was changed from open to one down or two after he failed in 30 matches. Hafeez disappoint us in 4 matches and perform in his last match to get his place back in the team. we dont need hafeez in the team please.. hey PCB, why dont you think of better openeres... line lagii huii ha talent ki Pakistan ma boss... think of it as we all pay you for all this entertainment.

In short 15 man squad is mediocre selection. Selection Committee resign, we dont need your appologies just resign , continous long term failure means Resignition with or without dignity.

Posted by   on (November 20, 2013, 22:01 GMT)

Even whatmore cant do anything with this mediocre selection and Abdul Razzaq out of squad thus even weaker team now.

Posted by farooq.ahmed.khan on (November 20, 2013, 12:57 GMT)

Pakistan team needs a batting coach pleaseeeeeeee give them a batting coach a decent one like inzi ,yousaf, salim malik, etc

Posted by   on (November 20, 2013, 12:28 GMT)

Two expired cricketers returned, the way they played in UAE gave us an insight into their fitness level and their abilities to win matches. There was a time when Razzaq and Malik were considered as good limited overs players but we should move forward now. PCB bring some youngsters as replacements.

Posted by shah_ji2014 on (November 20, 2013, 12:24 GMT)

what all happening it is nature of pakistan cricket (as we know pakistanies are very emotional nation every field of life) agree?? even pakistan losses the same way when they got great players like 2Ws, Inzi, Saeed Anwar, Shoaib akhtar, Miandad, Saleem Malik.. i'v never forgotten 80% matches of 1992 world cup and later worldcups.. its nothing new for us.. Pakistan team playes only "Tukka" basses, when it comes they can destroy any team.. its clearlyl show how "Tukka" can do. nothing will change, we have to just watch the matches and enjoyes ups and downs.. some players can do it with very interestingly and also people would like this change as the name of "Changing".. Pakistan team should be like this, 1.Ahmed Shahzad,2.Azhar Ali,3.Umar Akmal, 4.Sohaib Maqsood, 5. Khalid Latif, 6.Kamran Akmal (should be play him as a batsman instead of w/k), 7.Hammad Azam/Hafeez, 8.Saeed Ajmal, 9.Anwar Ali (he can bat few times just like Afridi), 10. Junaid Khan, 11.Irfan/Gul/Aizaz Cheema/ shuffl them

I think such a talent like razzak and malik should paly in south African condition ...and i am sure they will perform very well....i am really shocked that they ar not play in today's important match..i will not see today's match only for this reason...

Posted by mzm149 on (November 20, 2013, 9:46 GMT)

Shoaib Malik might be missed. In last tour earlier this year, Shoaib Malik contributed in both ODIs which Pakistan won.

Posted by SamWintson92 on (November 20, 2013, 9:24 GMT)

Misbah should be brought back in T20Is. He averages 37+ in T20s. Plus replacements like Fawad Alam, Raza Hasan & Harris Sohail should be sent to SOU.

Posted by hellothereeveryone on (November 20, 2013, 6:30 GMT)

Pakistan will definitely miss Razzaq as a medium pacer especially in south african conditions and as a batsman who can hit well. Shoaib Malik probably is not going to be missed much especially in T20 format.

Posted by immy25 on (November 20, 2013, 6:14 GMT)

Ohh more Hafeez again......Better Keep Hafeez out of action if Steyn is there in Playing 11.Why are they not trying any youngsters when seniors are failing continuously? Pak have some serious problem in selection...

Posted by worthydost786 on (November 20, 2013, 5:58 GMT)

i wish what more? lol reads this please sir whatmore. just tell our players to go for it, wait for the loose ball and hit it . after looking at the recent performances all i believe target of 200 is like 400 for pakistan i can never blame our bowlers they r good no matter who they r playing against. its all about batting 6 runs/over 20 overs 120 in t20s. which can extend to 160 or more which is just normal. 6 runs/over in 50 overs ODI is 300 which can also extend, just tell them our players if they can't be a hitter atleast keep on with your strike rate (I Mean A Ball A Run)

Posted by worthydost786 on (November 20, 2013, 5:04 GMT)

they are not injured, but never mind PCB should send some hard hitters like this dude Sharjeel Khan who just scored 194 in 45 overs match with 14 sixes &13 fours, along them off course imran nazir. as i always say pakistan can only score some runs if they stop being defensive because the wickets are down in early overs they atleast gotta maintain an average of atleast 6 runs an over. after the first wicket they all get so defensive including Misbah (who will score a 50 in 100 balls) and then get out once this kind of things happens to India & Aus they still go on to score more than 300. why us who are scared, they score 144 in t20 against SA why can't they play like this in ODI

Posted by Sachit1979 on (November 20, 2013, 4:49 GMT)

They should be replaced with Hammad Azam and Haris Sohail

Posted by Pak_Guru on (November 20, 2013, 4:36 GMT)

Get Hammad Azam in for the ODI's quick.... give him a decent chance, play him in 3 ODI's and use his allround skills. And if this kid Sami Aslam is so talented then why was he not tried against Zimbabwe.......

Posted by   on (November 20, 2013, 4:06 GMT)

Why replacement not sent? New talent must be sent for their replacement. Come on selecrors

Posted by PakCricZindabad on (November 20, 2013, 2:34 GMT)

Very disappointing to see that the squad that just lost 4-1 & 2-0 has been retained, & only 2 new faces.

Also, their is major lack of confidence in the Pakistan team. This makes it very hard for them to win matches.

Some of the UAE squad players should be kept, as no matter how they perform, they are the best available talent at the moment.

If I was a selector, I would select based on performance, commitment, & talent/potential.

Squad -1. Shehzad, 2. I Nazir, 3. S Maqsood, 4. H Sohail/Hafeez, 5. Babar Azam, 6. Afridi/Rizwan Ahmed, 7. Umar Akmal 8. B Bhatti, 9. Ajmal, 10. Gul, 11. J Khan.

All these players have avg's of high 30's to mid 40 in Int'l cricket, w/ Azam & Sohail's avg's of 62 in FC T20 cricket. Also, R Ahmed, a leg spin all-rounder, who is promising for his age. This squad is well balanced with specialized & all-rounders.

Unfortunately, Pakistan need different squads for all 3 formats & that is very disappointing, but in a way different players will receive chances.

Posted by   on (November 20, 2013, 1:50 GMT)

I am sure Pakistan will win the series of T20 or get Thrashed. They are a very good T20 side Had they defeated South Africa recently They would have been #1 seed I T20 teams.Thats the Power.I wish them Best of Luck.

Posted by   on (November 20, 2013, 1:44 GMT)

Misbah and Shafiq in T20 squad ... Seriously ?? They didnt replace the 2 allrounders with Harris Sohail and Hammad Azam ?? Seriously ? Asad Shafiq's tremendous ODI performances where he has an average of 25 and strike rate not even 70 has landed him a place in the T20 squad... seriously ?

Posted by somethingdifferent on (November 20, 2013, 1:26 GMT)

Totally agree with @Talha Malik. It is a blessing in disguise for Pakistan. Both of them never deserved to be in the squad at the first place. Now is an opportunity to send two young deserving replacements.

Posted by ahabib on (November 19, 2013, 22:52 GMT)

While this is indeed good news for Pakistan cricket, there are quite a few others in the team who need a bit of " injury time" and preferably a permanent rest. Foremost among those is Afridi. While he continues to inspire a hysterical joy in his fans without actually doing anything, his performance is weak and he has been a burden on the team for a long time. Also, Hafeez seems to be in a state of complete panic as regards his batting. His batting failures have now spread from test to ODI and T20. And this is in the UAE. One shudders to think of him batting in South Africa. He may also need a good long rest. Unfortunately, the team does not have a single high quality batsman. Misbah may make 50-80 runs, but he is not good enough to take the team to victory. We need to recall Mohammad Yousuf. Why is he not in the team?

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 21:47 GMT)

dropping Hafeez , Tanvir or Afridi will again not solve the problem if the replacements are going to be mediocre players selected from influential backgrounds.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 21:04 GMT)

Another boring and one sided series to be played. Problem with Pak cricket is no new talents are coming up to replace failing old players.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 21:03 GMT)

Good News for Pakistan , i think Afridi sould also be sent home along with hafeez , Misbah shud captain T20 side as well and Anwar Ali shud be in the starting lineup as well as Muhammad Talha shud also be selected

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 20:58 GMT)

From this tour r series Pakistan will get setbacks only. The consequences have started to come.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 20:35 GMT)

What about Imad Wasim he is an awesome all rounder or Hammad Azam, I am seriously begining to question the Pakistani think tank.

Posted by t20cric on (November 19, 2013, 19:18 GMT)

This was the perfect chance to send Hammad Azam and Haris Sohail as replacements but sadly PCB doesn't beleive in the youth. A few months ago Pak U23 team made it to the finals(can be considered a success) of the emerging teams cup but lost to India U23 in the finals. A week or two before that tournament Pakistan U19 were thrashing England U19 and Bangladesh U19 in the U19 tri-series in England(a huge success). These tournaments show that Pakistan youth do, infact have talent but they must be groomed and allowed to play there natural game in order to succeed in the international team. A short series like this or the one that happened against Zimbabwe 2 months ago are the perfect times to give these guys a chance.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 18:47 GMT)

I am happy because hopefully team will operate with specialist line up this time. Absolutely agree with #naveed raja, the team should be like this, although junaid has struggled few times and Irfan with fitness and dont know about new guy Bilawal..Hopefully he performs well.. Pakistan should back Umar Gul..Shahid Afridi can replace Hammad Azam in the conditions..but not more than one allrounder in a team for God sake..

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 18:31 GMT)

I Sincerely hope this is not an injury but a realisation by the PCB management that these are spent forces. Razzaks performance with the bat and the ball and maliks dismissal should leave no doubt that these are spent forces and should have retired 3 years ago.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 18:21 GMT)

Good for Pakistan, should I wait for Hafeez and Afridi's injuries?

Posted by JunaidAbbasi on (November 19, 2013, 18:02 GMT)

If Malik not available today then Misbah must playyyy must ! & please bring Malik back in team !

Posted by JunaidAbbasi on (November 19, 2013, 17:58 GMT)

Shoaib Malik's Injury is a bad news , because he looked very good in taking taking quick singles & rotating strike ! & he can also hit sixes & fours with timings in the end ! so bad news !

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 17:40 GMT)

Razzaq rarely trains, and I had a cut in the index finger which healed inside two days....and im not close to a sportsperson or used heavy medical advise....wat are they talking abt

Posted by keptalittlelow on (November 19, 2013, 17:28 GMT)

Again its bad luck for Razzaq, either he is dropped and dropped, when eventually included poor guy gets injured. Pakistan did a good job in destroying his enormous talent, there is no new talent forthcoming so its a very bad news.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 16:43 GMT)

Pakistan should go with 5 specialist Batsmen, one Keeper, One Allrounder, and 3 Specialist Fast and one spinner, drop these out of farm all rounders like tanveer, afridi, hafeez etc, My team 1 Jamshed 2 Shehzad 3 maqsood 4 Shafique 5 misbah 6 umer Akmal 7 Hamad Azam 8 BILAWA bHATTI 9 Ajmal 10 JUNAID 11 Irfan

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 16:42 GMT)

@captain tuk tuk:yes misbah play good and also hit sixex if he challenged in t20 game to do so mean show some agression hit 4s sixes. i think its a good decision to let misbah play in t20 because he can play with responablity and can also hit boundries as well. sorry for bad english

Posted by Captain_Tuk_Tuk on (November 19, 2013, 16:40 GMT)

@Qazi Hassan Same Misbah failed in the Caribbean League right? In Champions Leagues he played qualifying matches against weaker bowling attack in main tournament it would have been a different story lets be realistic.

@Short_pitch_ball You should support your players and team and trust me they need it most right now. They are good players in there own domain, Misbah can play good in Test matches and Hafeez in T20s ODIs both can play but we want them to perform in all three formats which is a rare thing not all players can do it.

Posted by Crick_Chater on (November 19, 2013, 16:28 GMT)

Smart move by these two, especially by Malik. They knew this series will kill whatever cricketing life left in them. So they chickened out.

In the past, Pakistan would always pick raw talent and groom them into legends. We have selectors now, who don't have that ability to spot those diamonds in the rough.

I sincerely believe, we should start afresh. Let us pick guys with right attitude and guts. While our domestic setup will take time to produce finished products for us, ad interim we can build our team around these guys ahmed, nasir, shirjeel, awais, harris, sohaib, hammad, mohd rizwan, sami aslam, kamran ghulam etc. Bowling unit is just about fine.

Lets remove old hats at once and give opportunities to new kids on the block.Who knows we might find new heroes sooner than what is expected.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 16:25 GMT)

Good riddens,,I would play Misbah for Malik for sure, why on earth we keep bring back these old used up guys again and again,,we already have one(Afridi) to content and bear with. This may be a good news in disguise for PAK. GOOD LUCK GUYS.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 16:15 GMT)

Really it is the best news. Please send new guys and drop Hafiz too. They lost the series with this team give chance to new kids who deserve it. Hammad Azam, Anwar Ali, etc.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 15:51 GMT)

one of the best news coming from Pak cricket after a long time. I hope they never ever comeback in the team.

Posted by Short_pitch_ball on (November 19, 2013, 15:49 GMT)

PCB is a part of Illuminati lolzzzz super conspiracy to adjust mr tuk tuk in the team and to make ordinary ( hafeez ) like a golden boy with his third class sub standard 20's. No good hopes from this shameless coward peoples in charge ..

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 15:45 GMT)

It is too bad with Abdul Razaq & Shoaib Malik to return them Pakistan. Selection commitee should give chance to Abdul Razaq completly. This is not gud if Abdul Razaq couldn't ply very gud in any game than selection commite droped him back. Abdul Razaq plays very well than Shoaib Malik & Professor sb.

Posted by Mel-waas on (November 19, 2013, 15:41 GMT)

@ Umar Riaz I agree those two should not have been selected in the first place.

Posted by web_guru2003 on (November 19, 2013, 15:37 GMT)

Wasn't this on the card anyway? Not sure why are we hell bent on giving chance over and over again. They are not physically fit either. I'd rather give long run to youngsters (yes even if they are failing) than giving chance to tried and tested ones

I can't understand that how abdul razzaq got injured all the time

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 15:23 GMT)

the worse thing that pak can do is now send goofy kamran or as some one suggested khalid latif who reminds me of habibul bashir of BD send hammad azam for razzaq and a batter as the batting is struggling not the bowling

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 15:20 GMT)

Convenient.. thats a fabulour cover up.. well done '#PCB

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 15:13 GMT)

@Captain_Tuk_Tuk: Can you tell me who scored the most runs in the first round of Champions League held in India? Who hit the most sixes? Who had the highest strike rate? Who had the highest average? Then tell me if Misbah is not a T20 man.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 15:11 GMT)

Both Malik & Razzaq are refusing to bowl. Unfortunately their batting alone is not good enough to make a place in the team. Afridi can hide behind his average bowling and excellent fielding, but these two can't

Posted by mzm149 on (November 19, 2013, 15:08 GMT)

I hope its not another conspiracy to bring back some other players in squad specially in t20. Yes we don't want to see Misbah in t20 once again.

Shoaib Malik failed in the last tour of South Africa so will not be missed. Besides, he is a spinner all rounder and is not useful on South African pitches. Razzak would have been be more useful as a seamer all rounder and I think deserved a chance.

would love to see pakistani Sehwag, i mean Sharjeel in the team

Good Riddance! They are not injured they are just taken out. They are dead cricketers. See the performance of Shoaib Malik. he has not scored a fifty in last four years. In last T20 Razzaq give away 15 runs in one over and got out first ball.

Posted by Ramu444 on (November 19, 2013, 14:50 GMT)

I think pak team will be better off due to the absence of these players.Anwer Ali & Bilawel are much better then these and they will hopefully now get a chance.Razzaq & Malik should now take retirement gracefully from international cricket.they are done and dusted.what embarrassing performances they put in UAE.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 14:45 GMT)

Fawad Alam and Hamad Azam need god fathers otherwise they will never get their chances bot are the exact fits for these two players Malik and razzak- but then we know they will never get chances becuase of so much politics and biased selection

Posted by Cric_fever_forever on (November 19, 2013, 14:45 GMT)

thank u lord for taking action. both of them are done and dusted anyway.they should quit interantional cricket for good. management there i just dont know when would they wake up why did they made them travel in first place if they were injured kick them out also. however i feel somthing fishy is going on out there.maybe fight for captaincy getting intense may be (just a conispricy theory). any way Now atleast both bilawal asad and maybe anwer ali get full tour good for younster anyway.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 14:44 GMT)

Bring in as replacements Khalid Latif batting average 48 & Azhar Ali average 41 in International ODI and domestic batting average 50 AND whereas your both openers which is Ahmed Shehzad batting average is (28 internationals and Domestic 34) & Hafeez has batting average of (29 in internationals and domestics 34) so mediocre averages for International team openers really lack of taste to select players it can only be putting hands in front of eyes & then selecting unfortunately for Pakistan.Instead of Umar Amin who's domestic batting average is 32 bring in fawad alam batting average 46 or khurram manzoor batting average 46.People who have performed in domestic level shown by their domestic batting averages should be given long-run for trial & error if they will succeed at that level or not but instead mediocre players with mediocre domestic averages are given long-run with their mediocre international averages show the outcome of this phenomena & fans cry like babies due to this reasons.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 14:42 GMT)

some comments are so funny about conspiracy theories. " It is to get misbah in team". lol so funny. Guys if they wanted him in then they could have selected him at 1st instance. He has scored twice the runs this year than many of the players in team have not scored collectively.

Malik was injured and we saw what happened to his hand live on tv. It was poor management to give him ticket for flight in the 1st place.

do you think razak will stay quiet if he was forced to send back? remember what happened after t20 WC? and if it was any issue in dressing room then it might have been with hafeez -razak.

Posted by Smohyuddin on (November 19, 2013, 14:34 GMT)

It's better to get yourself 'injured' than to face the likes of Steyn and Morkel on South African pitches and further spoil your careers.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 14:33 GMT)

Are Misbah and Asad Shafiq are avaialble for selection? otherwise, we don't have enought batsmen in playing eleven of the 1st T20s, which is already fully loaded with bowlers or so-called 'bowling allrounders'.

My team for 1st T20 would be:

1.Ahmed Shehzad , 2.Nasir Jamshed, 3.Mohammad Hafeez (captain), 4.Sohaib Maqsood, 5. Misbah-ul-Haq, 6. Umar Akmal (wk), 7.Anwar Ali, 8.Shahid Afridi, 9. Sohail Tanvir/Bilawal Bhatti, 10. Junaid Khan, 11.Saeed Ajmal.

In ODIs, Asad Shafiq should get chance instead of Nasir Jamshed and Bilawal bhatti instead of Sohail Tanvir. I don't want to see Umer Amin in any team.

Posted by romirom on (November 19, 2013, 14:30 GMT)

hop they will get wel soon. But never get select for pak team. They are not good enough. Hop to see few newcomers insteed of them.

When we Pakistanis will realize that T20 is not a game for old horses? True Malik, Afridi and Razzaq have performed in distant past, but their best-before date has gone by. I don't expect them to do well against any good bowling attack. If Pakistan has to do well in T20, they must develop a team with average age less than 25. Also they must find 2-3 power hitters. T20 is a game of fearless power hitters and Pakistan has none.

I sense Misbah's recall to T20 but I doubt they'll try it in 1st T20 unless Pakistan fail miserably in 1st match. I hope they don't because Misbah is only a Test player he can play ODI but T20 will be too much for him, we'll see soon.

Sad News for PAK, PCB should take action against team management Professor and Mr. tuktuk

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 14:25 GMT)

Wow Masha'Allah good news specially since Malik is out Alhamdolilah! Now we have a chance to win Insha'Allah.

Posted by ICCexpert.... on (November 19, 2013, 14:25 GMT)

Sharjeel Khan, Kamran Ghulam, and Sami Aslam should be included

Posted by Crick_Expert on (November 19, 2013, 14:25 GMT)

RAZZAK should be part of TEAM as backup to boom boom AFRIDI.

Posted by Crick_Expert on (November 19, 2013, 14:24 GMT)

Sad News. PAK TEAM really needed RAZZAK in current situation. PCB should open eyes and say BYE to unfit players like Mr. tuktuk, Asad Safiq, Sohail Tanvir

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 14:22 GMT)

Really really bad news in deed. Now selectors have an excuse of loosing the series. There is a big possibility of return of these players in other series means no opportunity for young players. PCB should stop all the junior level matches because they don't give them opportunity until players are in their late 30's Don't see any hope for T20 world cup. These shameless selectors will be always there even though we fail miserably in T20 World Cup just like Champion Trophy (lost 3 out of 3).

@Romanticstud when was that in 1960? Dude the rest of world evaluate player form and fitness by series not by decades

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 14:21 GMT)

good but are lame players

Posted by ahsanmahmood945 on (November 19, 2013, 14:18 GMT)

Lol very funny by PCB.for People who are regarding this as a good news will regreat after SA series. 1-2 matches can't decide the performance of such players.Razzaq and Malik have done so much for pakistan. They both are all time best all rounders of pakistan, after imran khan and Better than afridi, hafeez, sohail.

Posted by siqbal00 on (November 19, 2013, 14:18 GMT)

Blessing in disguise!!! ... GOD works mysteriously, please let these sort of injuries happen to other free loaders as well. Top of list Hafeez, Afridi, Umar Amin & Sohail Tanvir

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 14:18 GMT)

Hopefully both new guys Bhatti and Anwar get at least t20s. there was no chance earlier with malik and razak in.

It was poor management on part of team and board regarding malik. His injury was visible but yet they named him in squad and he traveled there . Razak got it in training so we can give benefit of doubt .

Posted by avmd on (November 19, 2013, 14:18 GMT)

I ma happy for Razzaq that he will spend quality time with family and not humiliated in SA. He is done as an international cricketer. I wish him good health but this this not a bad news for him or for Pak team.

Posted by Orangetable on (November 19, 2013, 14:13 GMT)

Razzaq is approaching 40 and is terribly out of form. Should not play for Pakistan again. Malik has something to offer the 20/20 team and thats about it.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 14:12 GMT)

Great news of the day that Shoaib Malik is no more there. This sifarashi cricketer is getting chances not because of his talent but his approach to highups in PCB.

Posted by asiacricket1234 on (November 19, 2013, 14:11 GMT)

I dont think losing Malik gonna make any big change to their performance. He is an ordinary player anyway and was not going to make a big difference however, losing Razzak is a bg blow. He is an outstanding allrounder and he will be missed. I feel sorry for him. He should get more opportunity and now he got one chance and he got injured. Its a shame that players like Afridi is hailed and get picked although he fails most of the time but players like Razzak doesnt get the same opportunity :(

Posted by CricketChat on (November 19, 2013, 14:10 GMT)

Misbah and Umal Gul (if fit) should be brought in who should have been there in the first place.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 14:10 GMT)

blessing in disguise... well no disguise its just blessing

Posted by ICCexpert.... on (November 19, 2013, 14:08 GMT)

time to send Sharjeel Khan and Hammad Azam.

Posted by OverDcovers on (November 19, 2013, 14:07 GMT)

Good Riddens! I further wish something of the same nature happens to Hafeez and he gets sidelined for Good, as this seems the only way to get rid of the crap in the Pakistani team!

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 14:05 GMT)

Bring in Kamran Ghulam and Sami Aslam

Posted by Lach-Ferragh on (November 19, 2013, 14:03 GMT)

Double blessing in disguise. Good riddance (for the umpteenth time).

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 14:01 GMT)

I think its a drama by PCB/Tour selection management, they are not unfit, they have been secretly ruled out due to poor performances in UAE Series!

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 14:00 GMT)

The picture selected for this news is the best :-p

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 13:58 GMT)

Posted by applethief on (November 19, 2013, 13:57 GMT)

Shoulsd get Asad and Misbah in the team. We might have a better chance of lasting 20 overs that way

Posted by Anwar-Lara on (November 19, 2013, 13:55 GMT)

Knew it already, its not replacement for injuries..

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 13:53 GMT)

both are coming after long time we already lost series :/ i think misbah has to be recalled sad news :(

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 13:51 GMT)

Misbah and Shafiq can be slotted straight into team.

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 13:49 GMT)

Bring in Kamran Ghulam and Sami Aslam

Posted by Stark62 on (November 19, 2013, 13:47 GMT)

This is the best news I've heard coming out of the Pak camp, since forever (feels like it)!!

They should definitely try their utmost to get two of Sharjeel, Haris, Hammad, Ehsan or Fawad for this tour.

Posted by Riz37 on (November 19, 2013, 13:47 GMT)

Great News for Pakistan Cricket!

Posted by Romanticstud on (November 19, 2013, 13:45 GMT)

It is a pity Razzaq has an injury as he has always helped Pakistan when they have had nigh impossible tasks to achieve against South Africa as far as chasing targets is concerned ... He more than any batsman has turned Pakistan's fortunes around against South Africa ... I remember them being something for 8 and Pakistan looking dead and buried in an ODI just for Razzaq to come in and tear into South Africa as if they were some part-time team ...

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 13:45 GMT)

Great News! A blessing in disguise. Thank You Lord!

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 13:45 GMT)

Is this some lame excuse, to not have Razzaq in the team! This all the fault of the PCB, not keeping thier player's fit!

Posted by   on (November 19, 2013, 13:42 GMT)

Big loss. Pak will miss Malik's experience.
