An unassuming left-arm spinner from Garankuwa, Aaron Phangiso played first-class cricket from the age of 20. He represented South Africa at under-19 level and played for Northerns for five seasons before moving on to be with coach Dave Nosworthy at the Lions. There, he has been used more as a limited-overs bowler than in the longer version of the game. Phangiso had the best economy rate among the Lions' bowlers in the 2009-10 Standard Bank Pro20.
