Ever since the most famous follow win at Eden Gardens , Kolkata in 2001 where on following on, India went on to reach a mammoth 2nd Innings score of 657 and eventually won the test, hardly any of our leading cricket teams have enforced the follow on on teams folding up in their first essay. But actually in this Test, since the bowlers hardly toiled much in Pakistan's short Ist of 49 runs, it would have been worthwhile to enforce the follow on and finish the game in a flourish.

i think its nothink about wearing pak bowlers out or tiring out, next game is on 14th feb many days to rest for bowlers. Its not even about mentally grinding Pak down, i think smith made that decision to spend some more time in middle. No 1 can doubt this game can go out of SA hands. and there middle order hasnt got much time in middle in 1st inings. so smith didnt enforced foloow on to give his batsmen more time against pak bowlers which will be good for next games.
