Pakistan tour of South Africa, 1st T20I: South Africa v Pakistan at Durban, Mar 1, 2013
Match abandoned without a ball bowled
Played at Kingsmead, Durban
1 March 2013 - night match (20-over match)

6.30pm What a shame. The match has been called off without a ball being bowled. With that bad news, I fare thee well

6.20pm Still raining in Durban. But some good sense from CSA. It will refund ticket money even if we get a game but it is shorter than seven overs. Refunds can be claimed between March 3 and March 24

What a shame it is still raining

5.40pm Actually it has rained so much it might take the ground staff, led by good old Wilson Ngobese, two hours to get the ground ready once the rain stops. Not looking good, folks

5.30pm Being told that a five-over game needs to start by 8.38pm latest, and the ground staff will need an hour at least to clear the ground. So if the rain hasn't stopped by 7.38pm, we might as well this off. And it is raining still

5.15pm No signs of rain letting up in Durban. We will keep you updated

5pm South Africa might have dominated the Test series, but T20 is a horse of a different colour. Anything can happen here. Durban, in normal course, is as good place as any to start this series. However, tonight I have some wet news for you: Shaun Pollock is asking for a roof at Kingsmead, and it has been bucketing down. The forecast doesn't look great, but they are hoping the early rain might pass and give us a five-over game at least. The cut-off time is 8.30pm, but the game can be called off earlier too
