Zimbabwe tour of South Africa, 2nd T20I: South Africa v Zimbabwe at Kimberley, Oct 10, 2010
South Africa won by 8 runs
10 October 2010 (20-over match)

2.20pm Right, Graeme Smith and Loots Bosman are out there and the early move by Zimbabwe to open with offspinner Prosper Utseya.

2.20pm "What happened to Grant Flower. I thought he performed so well at county level and thats why was picked??" asks an befuddled Ahmed. Flower had a problem with his visa so could't get to South Africa but he'll be there for the one dayers.

2.00pm South Africa have won the toss and will bat. They have made a couple of change with Ryan McLaren missing out and Robin Peterson coming in and Lonwabo Tsotsobe replacing the injured Morne Morkel. Ed Rainsford, who was on the wrong end of a Loots Bosman assault, has been dropped with Shingirai Masakadza selected for Zimbabwe.

1.50pm Hello everyone and welcome to the second ever Twenty20 international between South Africa and Zimbabwe. The first ended in a hurry as South Africa's batsmen butchered Zimbabwe's attack but before then Zimbabwe's batsmen impressed with a show of real gumption. I'm Sahil Dutta and I'll be on my own for this game, so do give us a shout. While we wait for news from the toss why not check out our preview or have a look at our Facebook page.

Utseya to Bosman, FOUR, good start from Utseya but South Africa's very own Boom Boom is off with a boundary, half gliding-half-edging past the keeper for four

Utseya to Bosman, 1 run, down the wicket this time but nothing expansive, just eased down the ground for one

Smith is scratching the ground like a menacing bull... he really does look like a bull

Utseya to Smith, 1 run, rather than charge though, he simply turns this into the leg side for a single

Utseya to Bosman, OUT, Utseya strikes! The move to open with the spinner works! Boom Bust for Bosman! Just slapped it straight to mid-off!

LE Bosman c Mpofu b Utseya 5 (2m 3b 1x4 0x6) SR: 166.66

So Colin Ingram is the new man, he had a less-than-ideal debut so lets see how he goes here...

Utseya to Ingram, no run, starts confidently enough, punching straight to point

Utseya to Ingram, FOUR, oops, poor fielding, reminiscent of South Africa's showing in the first T20. Sweep shot goes out to fine leg who makes a glorious hash of things and Prosper is thoroughly unimpressed

End of over 1 (10 runs) South Africa 10/1 (RR: 10.00)

    • CA Ingram 4 (2b 1x4)
    • GC Smith 1 (1b)
    • P Utseya 1-0-10-1

Shingirai Masakadza new into the team will share the new ball.

SW Masakadza to Smith, no run, decent start from Masakadza, finding a good length and line, Smith crunches his big bat down in defence

SW Masakadza to Smith, no run, good delivery once again, back of a length, not giving Smith any room to free his arms

SW Masakadza to Smith, 1 wide, the length here is good but the line awry, slipping down the leg side

SW Masakadza to Smith, 2 runs, oooh, almost a dream start for Zimbabwe, it was short and a touch wide, Smith cracked an airy cut just short of third man

SW Masakadza to Smith, FOUR, too short this time and Smith has banged it to the cow-corner boundary. Really thuggish shot, bullying it away

SW Masakadza to Smith, FOUR, top shot again! Smith expecting a fuller ball charges down the wicket and clubs a drive down the ground

SW Masakadza to Smith, no run, good change of pace here, slower ball beats Smith outside off

End of over 2 (11 runs) South Africa 21/1 (RR: 10.50)

    • GC Smith 11 (7b 2x4)
    • CA Ingram 4 (2b 1x4)

Utseya to Ingram, FOUR, four more! Touch too full and swept away powerfully

Utseya to Ingram, no run, better length this time and it's defended into the covers

Utseya to Ingram, OUT, gone! Lovely bowling! Just held it back a fraction, touch of air and dip, Ingram ran at it, and past it as he was done in the flight, went on and clipped middle

CA Ingram b Utseya 12 (10m 8b 3x4 0x6) SR: 150.00

End of over 3 (8 runs) South Africa 29/2 (RR: 9.66)

    • P Utseya 2-0-18-2
    • SW Masakadza 1-0-11-0

Change of bowling, here's Mpofu.

Mpofu to Smith, FOUR, oops, don't bowl there, not with fine leg up in the circle, short and down the leg side, Smith helps it on its way for a boundary

Mpofu to Smith, FOUR, too short again, and the line is poor, Smith wheels a pull shot to the square-leg boundary

Mpofu to Smith, FOUR, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear... another short ball down the leg side, Smith gloves it down to the fine leg boundary past the hapless fielder up in the circle

Mpofu to Smith, no run, much better this time, on a length and line and Smith defends

Mpofu to Smith, no run, Smith runs outside leg stump to try and give himself room to free his arms, and in the end gives himself too much room to reach it

Mpofu to Smith, FOUR, no movement here from the batsman! Just stand and thwack! Short and wide deliveries tend to end badly for the bowler

SW Masakadza to Duminy, 1 run, Duminy is nothing if not a man of style and he slides this down to third man with great elan

SW Masakadza to Smith, 2 runs, Smith is no man of style but has plenty of substance and over his career how many runs has he picked up like this, nudging into the leg side? Many, many I tell you

SW Masakadza to Smith, 1 run, touch too leg sided again, Duminy clips towards midwicket

SW Masakadza to Duminy, no run, nicely bowled, a touch slower and very correctly defended down the pitch

SW Masakadza to Duminy, 1 run, enough of a leg-stump line for Duminy to fiddle this towards midwicket for a single

Taylor to Smith, 1 run, big heave one-bounce to deep midwicket, Smith timed it well but, fortunately for him, not well enough

    • BRM Taylor 1-0-6-0
    • SW Masakadza 2-0-20-0

Cremer to Smith, 2 runs, Graeme Cremer is on with his legspin, Zimbabwe seem to have a endless supply of legspinners, which is brilliant... Smith is the one in command here though, proving how young and snazzy he is with a reverse-paddle
