Administrator

A batter who made limited appearances for Victoria in the early 1990s, Geoff Allardice became better known as an administrator after he retired from playing. A product of the Melbourne University club, which also turned out high-profile administrators such as James Sutherland, Malcolm Gray and Allen Robertson, Allardice was brought in to Cricket Australia by Sutherland, the chief executive, to become the organisation's umpiring manager. A chemical engineer by training, Allardice brought a methodical, analytical nature to his role and later became Cricket Australia's general manager of cricket operations. After a decade with CA, Allardice was chosen as the ICC's general manager of cricket operations in 2012, filling the role formerly held by Dave Richardson. He rose further to become ICC CEO in an interim capacity and then full-time in 2021.
