Gauteng signs HD Ackerman, Kruger and Abrahams

The Gauteng Cricket Board have always taken it upon themselves to grow and nurture talent from the province, giving local boys a chance to grow and prove themselves in the higher leagues.

This year, the GCB have decided to bring experience into the team to help nurture the younger talent, by contracting three new players. HD Ackerman, Garnet Kruger and Umar Abrahams who have all recently signed contracts with the Gauteng Cricket Board for the following season.

HD Ackerman, a right handed batsmen captained Western Province and represented South Africa at Test level. Garnet Kruger, a right arm medium fast bowler from Eastern Province has represented South Africa A in their tour to West Indies. Umar Abrahams, a left hand batsman and right arm medium fast bowler from Eastern Province has represented South Africa at U/19 level.

The Gauteng Cricket Board are extremely excited about their new players and are looking forward to seeing them in action in the upcoming season for the Highveld Strikers.
