Ackerman ruled out of South Africa A match

HD Ackerman has withdrawn from the South Africa A side that is scheduled to play England at Potchefstroom from Saturday. He has been ruled out through injury, and Ashwell Prince has replaced him as captain.

Ackerman, 31, may have torn his groin muscle during Lions' match against Titans on Wednesday in a Standard Bank Cup match. "It happened when I was running between the wickets with Justin Ontong," he told the South African Press Association. "I felt it go and knew right away that I was in trouble, I am really disappointed as I was so looking forward to playing international cricket again."

Ackerman will have further checks this on Friday to assess the extent of the damage.
