Warriors send Dolphins spinning
Warriors 143 for 4 (Henderson 44, Kreusch 40, Jacobs 35*) beat
Dolphins 140 for 8 (Pollock 49, A Amla 47, Henderson 3-24) by 4
The Warriors beat the Dolphins by 6 wickets at St George's Park in Port Elizabeth to jump to third position in the Standard Bank Pro table while the Dolphins now have no chance of making the semi-finals.
A poor start from the Dolphins, after being asked to bat first, was recovered by Shaun Pollock and Ahmed Amla as they put on 53 in 39 balls for the third wicket. Pollock struck two sixes and five fours in his 49 while Amla, who started cautiously, finished with one six and four fours in his 47. Once again the Dolphins' lower order could not capitalise on the start and had to be content with 140 at the end of the 20 overs. Tyron Henderson was the key wicket-taker for the Warriors and ended with 3 for 24 in his four overs.
A solid start was all the Warriors needed to chase down the target of 141 and Justin Kreusch and Tyron Henderson provided it as they took the score to 100 for 2 after 14 overs, with Henderson scoring 44 and Kreusch 40. Looking for the bonus point Arno Jacobs smashed 35 off 11 balls but in the end failed to convert as the Warriors won with two overs to spare.
