South Africa's wicketkeeper Mark Boucher will play his domestic cricket for the Cape Cobras next season after confirming a move from the East London-based Warriors.
Boucher has lived in Cape Town for a few years, but commuted to play for the Warriors when his international commitments allowed. But Andre Odendaal, the Cobras' chief executive, was delighted by the switch. "It's fantastic news for our loyal supporters that a player of Mark's calibre has decided to play for us," he told News24.
However Boucher, who flew out to the Carribbean yesterday with his South African team-mates, will have limited opportunities for his new franchise with another packed international season expected in 2007-08. Odendaal, though, was optimistic about the number of matches Boucher will play.
