Dale Steyn conceded only two runs in a sensational final over to steer the Titans into the Pro20 semi-finals after a 40-run win over the Dolphins at Willowmoore Park on Wednesday. The Dolphins needed to reach 153 to deny the Titans a bonus point after the home team scored 191 for four in their rain-reduced 18 overs. At the start of Steyn's final over, the Dolphins needed only four runs to reach the 153 target, with former Protea Lance Klusener well set on 37. But Steyn clean bowled Klusener and then conceded only two runs in an over of near perfect line, length and pace to Darren Smit to see his side into the last four at the expense of the Eagles. Titans openers Gulam Bodi and Faf du Plessis smashed 130 for the first wicket off only 11.2 overs, that left the Dolphins ruing that the rain had stopped at all. Bodi scored 70 and Du Plessis 76. Bodi raced to his half-century off only 24 balls, which included six fours and three sixes. Du Plessis followed shortly afterwards, taking a pedestrian 28 balls to reach the milestone by comparison. He only had 16 off 16 balls, but scored the next 34 off 12 balls, including three fours and a six off four consecutive Klusener deliveries to reach his half-century. Craig Ray

The Warriors snatched a late semi-final place as they beat the log-leading Lions by six wickets at Buffalo Park in East London. Chasing just 154, captain and opener Zander de Bruyn batted through to the 19th over, striking 73 off 62 balls, to ensure there would be no panic for the Warriors on a placid, slow pitch. De Bruyn was seldom troubled, scoring at a measured, fluent pace and his partnership of 100 for the third wicket with HD Ackerman (31) ensured an easy victory even if both batsmen fell to successive deliveries with the win in sight. De Bruyn was beaten and bowled by a fine yorker from Tyron Henderson, the paceman finishing with impressive figures of two for 28 in four overs, while Ackerman fell to the other Lions bowler to shine, giving off-spinner Werner Coetsee a return catch. Justin Kreusch hit out freely at the top of the innings, collecting four boundaries in his 23 before being caught off Henderson, while Garnett Kruger claimed Arno Jacobs' wicket for five, but there was precious little else for the Lions to celebrate, save for the fact that they finish top of the log regardless of proceedings in East London.
