Dolphins v Titans, Ram Slam T20, semi-final replay February 6, 2014

Miller salvo takes Dolphins into final

ESPNcricinfo staff

David Miller launched an astonishing assault on the Titans bowlers to power Dolphins into the final of the Ram Slam T20 Challenge with a 31-run win in Durban.

He was on 24 off 20 balls at one stage before exploding to ransack 69 off his next 17 deliveries to finish with 93 off 37. The highlight of his innings was the 18th over, when Miller hit Roelof van der Merwe for five sixes and a four to power Dolphins to 200 for 4 in 20 overs. He hit nine sixes in all.

Miller transformed the Dolphins innings, which had been foundering at 80 for 4 in 12.4 overs when Daryn Smit was dismissed.

Heino Kuhn led a spirited chase, hitting six sixes in his 76 off 39 balls, and Titans were 127 for 3 in 14 overs when he became the first of Mthokozisi Shezi's four wickets. Shezi then wrecked the chase by dismissing David Wiese, Albie Morkel and van der Merwe in the space of four balls in the 16th over. Robbie Frylinck's double strike in the 19th over gave him figures of 3 for 36 and Titans were dismissed for 169 in 19.2 overs.

Dolphins will now travel to Cape Town to face Cape Cobras in Sunday's final and both those teams will be part of the Champions League T20 later this year.

Bit harsh KJ. He averages more than both AB and Amla is t20int! Can't be that confused about how to hold a bat. Bear in mind he bats at 6 or 7 for SA and he isn't doing that badly.

Unfortunately when you put Miller in a Protea jersey he doesn't know which end of the bat to hold. Overrated, no BMT.

Well Done MILLER..u r a superhero...i think KingsXI Punjab Have been lucky to retain miller otherwise his base price would hav increased & They wil not be able to but him...

It is surely one of the best innings from David Miller , but I consider his hundred for KIngs X1 Punjab in the last IPL as the best because he produced an innings from nowhere to win the match for the team.

Miller is just one tough cookie!!! which also brings me to one thing that our batting line up for the world 20/20 should be: Amla, de Kock,ABD, Miller, Faf,Duminy, Peterson, McLaren/Parnell,Steyn, Morkel/BE Hendricks, Tsotsobe. one advantage is that a lil more time that both AB and Miller stay at da crease da higher da chances of a higher total

always fav teams will bring big names to semi final and they lose. as we see in bbl or ram slam. another thing whoever win the toss they will choose wrong (ex star.sixer and titan) and they will loose match what indicates means?

Proteas should let miller bat at 4 in t20"s,give him time to build his innings and go nuts at the end, brilliant innings miller

Miller's innings was one of the best T20 innings I've seen. Not just the number of sixes, even Levi hit 13 sixes in a T20 innings for SA. No, it was how clean and elegant his shots were, even when the ball flew out of the stadium as it did a few times. And in such a pressure game with CL on the line... superb.

Before this season the 3 biggest sixes I've seen (I think) were by Mark Waugh, Afridi and Gayle. But Miller has hit a couple in this years competition which are right up there, like the one he hit out of the ground in Kimberly. Hope he keeps this form up, could be a productive final (and IPL) for him.
