A brilliant spell by M Sufyan, followed by an excellent performance in the field, led to DATCO taking the trophy after a nail-biting finish saw them win by five runs against Warriors.
Even after DATCO had chalked up an achievable target of 76, owing much to a middle-order rescue, there was still the feeling that the target was well within Warrior's compass.
Earlier in the day, DATCO batted with caution after losing two early wickets, but that didn't stop Nasir from starting his innings with a six over long-on. Nasir and Waqar built a partnership of 33 before they were dismissed off consecutive balls in the fourth over. Mehrban and the rest of the batting order relied on rotating the strike to put on 76.
In reply, Warriors started solidly with their left-right batting combination keeping the DATCO fielders on the move. They found the boundaries on regular intervals till they reached 54 for no loss; then both batsmen mistimed shot and fell in the same over. From there, the Warriors' middle order couldn't recover. M Sufiyan took wickets regularly to restrict them well under the target at 71 for 6.
