Australia 104/3   MJ Clarke 0* (3b)
37.2

Lakmal to Clarke, no run, now that's good bowling... after a string of outswingers, bowls this sharp inswinger. Clarke has shouldered arms early, and is surprised by the movement back in. Hit in front of the stumps, but the extra bounce has saved Clarke

37.3

Lakmal to Clarke, no run, more inswing, Clarke sees this starting well wide, and leaves it alone

37.4

Lakmal to Clarke, no run, this one holds its line outside off, left alone again

37.5

Lakmal to Clarke, no run, now the away swinger, Clarke goes after it perhaps because of those inswingers, digs this out to cover

37.6

Lakmal to Clarke, no run, this one holds its line too, Clarke gets a stride in, covers the possible swing back in, and then shoulders arms

Australia 105/3   MJ Clarke 0* (8b)
38.5

Welegedara to Clarke, no run, defended outside off, towards mid-off

40.2

Welegedara to Clarke, 2 runs, short of a length, on the pads, worked away wide of square leg

40.3

Welegedara to Clarke, no run, angled across him, left alone

40.4

Welegedara to Clarke, FOUR, and he gets this to swing a touch too far down the leg side, Clarke glances it fine. Just what you need when the bowlers have out together a few testing overs

40.5

Welegedara to Clarke, no run, a brave leave, this is bowled from round the stumps, pitches outside off, but has every possibility of nipping back in. This one doesn't though

40.6

Welegedara to Clarke, no run, full, into middle and leg, pushed to mid-on

Australia 114/3   MJ Clarke 6* (16b 1x4)
42.1

Eranga to Clarke, no run, slight shape in towards Clarke from well outside off. Left alone

42.2

Eranga to Clarke, no run, angling into the pads, Clarke gets a touch squared up and belatedly decides to play it straight as opposed to square on the on side

42.3

Eranga to Clarke, no run, length ball outside off, defended off the front foot, towards cover

42.4

Eranga to Clarke, no run, length ball, angling into middle and leg, defended to mid-on

42.5

Eranga to Clarke, no run, another length ball, shaping in, towards off, defended off the back foot

42.6

Eranga to Clarke, no run, swinging in towards off, defended back

Australia 120/3   MJ Clarke 6* (22b 1x4)
44.1

Eranga to Clarke, no run, length ball around off, shaping in, defended back to the bowler

44.2

Eranga to Clarke, OUT, What is with Australia and patience today? Third poor shot, although one has to confess Sri Lanka have strung together a cluster of good overs with each-way swing. Still there can't be many excuses for this. This is well wide of off, and Clarke goes for a push - mind you, not a flashy drive, which could have resulted in a thick edge that could have eluded fielder. The ball holds its line, and takes the edge of the bat through to PJ. He had to stretch remarkably to even reach it
