  • Overs 1-50
  • Overs 51-100

Malinga to Gambhir, OUT, Gambhir has succumbed! Similar ball from Malinga, a hint of inward movement from off stump towards middle and leg, Gambhir seemed to fall over as he tried to flick. He misses and is caught plumb in front of the stumps, but has himself to blame here, trying to play across the line before getting his eye in. Sri Lanka have struck a huge blow here and Malinga's wonderful comeback to Test cricket continues!

G Gambhir lbw b Malinga 2 (2m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 100.00

India 2/1   V Sehwag 0* (0b)   SL Malinga 0.2-0-2-1

Mathews to Sehwag, 1 run, OUT, Dravid has got himself out here trying to run a totally needless second! Sehwag drove to mid off and they took off for a quick single. Malinga misfielded and Dravid belatedly decided to take a second one, but was caught well short at the non-striker's end. Huge and unnecessary loss for India here! Fatal error in judgement and Dravid is distraught. He should be. He was late on the decision to run two, and could have done away with it altogether.

R Dravid run out 18 (64m 33b 1x4 0x6) SR: 54.54

India 68/2   V Sehwag 42* (44b 10x4)   AD Mathews 1.2-0-7-0

Muralitharan to Tendulkar, OUT, Murali moves to 793 and what a wicket to pick! Full on middle, Sachin went for the sweep and missed it, there was not much turn and it would have hit the top of middle and leg. Sachin is gone and India are in come strife here.

SR Tendulkar lbw b Muralitharan 8 (29m 21b 1x4 0x6) SR: 38.09

India 101/3   V Sehwag 67* (73b 12x4 1x6)   M Muralitharan 2.4-0-22-1

Welegedara to Sehwag, OUT, Sehwag will not want to see this replay! Welegedara can't believe his luck, the ball is banged short and angled wide across the right-hander, the ball moved away far more than Sehwag imagined and he reached out rooted to the crease and tried to carve it over point, tame edge to first slip who's wide

V Sehwag c Paranavitana b Welegedara 109 (175m 118b 19x4 1x6) SR: 92.37

India 169/4   VVS Laxman 20* (53b 2x4)   UWMBCA Welegedara 6.2-0-47-1

Malinga to Laxman, OUT, another bad shot and Laxman plays right on to Sri Lanka's hands! The ball is short on the off stump and Laxman fetches it and pulls rather half heartedly, no real conviction in the shot, top edge lands safely down Dilshan's throat at deep square leg, the trap was set and he fell right in to it

VVS Laxman c Dilshan b Malinga 22 (94m 61b 2x4 0x6) SR: 36.06

India 178/5   Yuvraj Singh 6* (12b 1x4)   SL Malinga 11.3-0-48-2

Muralitharan to Dhoni, OUT, 794! And watta ball! Sharp turn from the rough outside off, Dhoni gets his foot across but half heartedly hangs his bat out, bowled through the gate, wasn't expecting so much turn

MS Dhoni b Muralitharan 33 (64m 47b 4x4 0x6) SR: 70.21

India 252/6   Yuvraj Singh 47* (57b 7x4 1x6)   M Muralitharan 11.5-1-54-2

Muralitharan to Yuvraj Singh, OUT, 795! Comes round the wicket and draws Yuvraj forward to defend, just a hint of turn and takes the outside edge, easy catch for Mahela at first slip

Yuvraj Singh c DPMD Jayawardene b Muralitharan 52 (91m 64b 8x4 1x6) SR: 81.25

India 259/7   Harbhajan Singh 2* (6b)   M Muralitharan 13-1-55-3

Herath to Harbhajan Singh, OUT, India push the self destruct button! Harbhajan tries to launch that out of Galle but is completely beaten in flight, very easy stumping for Jayawardene, no need for a replay

Harbhajan Singh st †HAPW Jayawardene b Herath 2 (12m 8b 0x4 0x6) SR: 25.00

India 259/8   I Sharma 0* (0b)   HMRKB Herath 14.2-1-54-1

Muralitharan to Ojha, OUT, Murali inches ahead, the countdown continues! That is number 796 and one of the easier ones too.. Another sharp offspinner to Ojha who is clearly concerned about the doosra so he stays back and hangs the bat in the hope that the ball will somehow hit the middle of his blade. No such luck this time and the edge flies to first slip.

PP Ojha c DPMD Jayawardene b Muralitharan 3 (18m 17b 0x4 0x6) SR: 17.64

India 266/9   I Sharma 3* (14b)   M Muralitharan 15.3-1-58-4

Muralitharan to Mithun, OUT, no need to appeal this time! Murali raises his arms in joy he has yet another five-wicket haul, his 67th! It was another fastish offspinner that curved in and then took off from outside off, Mithun was late on the cut and no shame in that, this ball has bamboozled far better batsmen. Leg stump is breached, leg bail is down, India are all out. Murali has 797 Test wickets. What a champ!

A Mithun b Muralitharan 8 (7m 10b 2x4 0x6) SR: 80.00
