New Zealand tour of Sri Lanka, 1st ODI: Sri Lanka v New Zealand at Hambantota, Nov 10, 2013

McClenaghan to Dilshan, 1 wide, and he is as wayward as Mills was accurate. There was a little shape available for the left-armer but he sprays this down the leg side and it swings further away

McClenaghan to Dilshan, 1 run, much better, fuller on middle stump and with a little swing into the batsman and Dilshan goes back and nudges it wide of mid-on to get off the mark

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, no run, his radar is not quite tuned yet, and oh boy, he has gotten away with that! Full and wide down the leg side, and that was wide all the way, but the umpire seems to think otherwise

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, no run, gets back behind the line of that good length ball on off stump and blocks down the pitch

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, no run, gets back behind the line of that one and blocks with authority

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, no run, he shuffles across to the off side to meet this one which was just back of a length and defends down the pitch

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, no run, appeal for caught behind, but there was no bat in that as Sanga moved back and looked to pull the shortish ball angled into his body. It must have hit him somewhere high up on his thigh as it went off to the keeper

Sri Lanka 4/1   MJ McClenaghan 1-0-2-0

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, FOUR, short ball, he didn't get all of that, but that's the second boundary for Sri Lanka. He was a little slow to pull that short ball seaming into him and the ball took the under edge close to the handle of the bat and trickled away to long leg

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, FOUR, Oh, that was crisp! Short, wide and slapped away through point for consecutive fours. he's struggling with his lines here

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, no run, goes fuller and homes in on off stump, as Mills has been doing so consistently from the other end and he is rewarded with just a defensive prod

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, no run, oh, lovely ball. Sanga left it, but it was quite tight and I suppose you will say it was a good decision by the batsman. The ball was full and angled in and it straightens after pitching

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, 1 wide, that was a poor follow-up. Full lenght ball, yes, but it was well wide of leg stump and the umpire does not come to save his skin that time

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, 3 runs, clipped away off the inside edge. It was full and angling into the batsman comes forward to work it away. Tom Latham chases it down, pulls out the dive and pulls the ball back in play. Replays confirm that and play resumes

McClenaghan to Dilshan, no run, oh, that was too good! Bounce and seam combine to beat the outside edge. It was pitched back of a length on leg stump and seams away from the right-hander who came forward to defend, but the ball got big on him and sails past the bat

Sri Lanka 22/1   MJ McClenaghan 2-0-14-0

McClenaghan to Dilshan, 1 run, poor start, he's still struggling. Short ball on leg stump and Dilshan goes back, moving across to his off stump and pulls it away behind square on the leg side

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, 1 run, full on the off stump which draws Sanga forward and drive towards cover. He dives, but it is just wide of him and mid-off cleans up

McClenaghan to Dilshan, 1 run, oh, off the splice of the bat and went in the air through gully. That was a very good ball, bouncing a little more from a good length as Dilshan was looking to block off the back foot

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, 2 runs, shot ball again, but that is not troubling either batsman. This time Sanga pulls the ball well in front of square, and he wasn't concerned with hitting it in the air as there is no midwicket, only the man in the deep who collects it

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, 1 run, oh, soft hands and it beats the short third man fielder. It was on a good length just outside off stump. Sanga just opened the face of the bat on impact and collects a single for his trouble

McClenaghan to Dilshan, 1 run, on the pads of Dilshan now, he's not having fun with the right- and left-hander in the crease and is flicked away to fine leg

Sri Lanka 61/1   MJ McClenaghan 3-0-21-0

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, no run, wasn't quite there to cut and Sanga gets it off the under edge of the bat as to this a shortish delivery just outside off

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, FOUR, pulled away strongly and deep square leg cannot cut it off. McClenaghan persists with the short ball and the batsman is only too happy to go back and pound it away in front of square

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, no run, that time he beats the batsman, who was looking to steer it away to third man. A little extra bounce there as he bowls it on a back of a length outside off stump

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, FOUR, another trademark Sangakkara cover drive and that was going nowhere else but the the boundary. Too full this time from the bowler and he makes no mistake, getting forward and just caressing it wide of the man at cover

McClenaghan to Sangakkara, 1 run, oh, well played. That was short and seaming into him, but he stays perfectly balanced at the crease, lets the ball come to him and rides the bounce to tape it away to third man

McClenaghan to Dilshan, 3 runs, excellent work by Grant Elliot who chases that flick shot all the way to the midwicket boundary and pushes it back to Tom Latham who was running in behind it. It was a full length ball on the pads of Dilshan and he clipped it away quite well

Sri Lanka 77/1   MJ McClenaghan 4-0-33-0

McClenaghan to Chandimal, OUT, bowled'im! Angles it in from outside off, he rolled his fingers across the ball and Chandimal was deceived by the pace as he tried to slog it on the leg side and missed it completely

LD Chandimal b McClenaghan 9 (23m 13b 0x4 0x6) SR: 69.23

McClenaghan to Kulasekara, no run, outside off, pushed straight to point

McClenaghan to Kulasekara, FOUR, short and wide, he gets enough room to cut it from the middle wide of point for four

McClenaghan to Kulasekara, 4 leg byes, angled in towards leg, Kula wants to glance it fine down the leg side for another boundary and he does, but it's off the pad. They'll take it whichever way. McClenaghan appealed but it was going down leg

McClenaghan to Senanayake, OUT, MM strikes back! Pitched it right in the block hole on middle, Senanayake came across towards off to paddle it fine but missed and the ball dislodged the bails easily

SMSM Senanayake b McClenaghan 14 (5m 4b 2x4 1x6) SR: 350.00

McClenaghan to Herath, 1 leg bye, pitches it short angled into the batsman who can't connect and they run a leg bye after it hit him around the waist

McClenaghan to Mathews, FOUR, leading lucky edge goes for four! It was full outside off, Mathews made room and slashed and found a thick edge which went over short third man for four
