New Zealand in Sri Lanka T20I Series - 2nd T20I

Sri Lanka v New Zealand

Sri Lanka won by 8 wickets (with 13 balls remaining)

6.56pm No signs of rain, it's fairly humid and the clouds that were hovering around the ground have gone away for now. Just under fine minutes for play to start, Lasith Malinga is getting his leg muscles stretched as Anton Devcich and Hamish Rutherford walk to the pitch. A slip in place, here we go...

Rashadhi: "It's not raining in Pallekalle, but it's raining here in Abu Dhabi." That's right, the World T20 qualifier between Uganda and USA was washed out there today.

Toss Sri Lanka have won the toss and will bowl first.

Dinesh Chandimal: Dew factor will come into play and we want to restrict them today. We have three changes today so Rambukwella will make his debut.

Kyle Mills: Looks like a good track and hopefully we can put up a big score, we have improved in some areas. The rain's played its part tonight by staying away and we want to provide some entertainment. Neesham has an injury and sits out.

Kusal Perera and Ajantha Mendis are playing today in place of Lahiru Thirimanne and Sachithra Senanayake.

Sri Lanka XI: Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kusal Perera, Kumar Sangakkara (wk), Mahela Jayawardene, Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal (capt), Thisara Perera, Nuwan Kulasekara, Ramith Rambukwella, Lasith Malinga, Ajantha Mendis

New Zealand XI: Hamish Rutherford, Anton Devcich, Neil Broom Tom Latham, Colin Munro, Luke Ronchi (wk), Rob Nicol, Nathan McCullum, Andrew Ellis, Kyle Mills (capt), Mitchell McClenaghan

High hopes from Uwaisul Karnain: "Hope I won't hear the words rain, wet outfield, interruption, D\L method, etc. anymore in this series."

6.20pm It's not raining in Pallekele, would you believe it! Welcome to the second T20 between Sri Lanka and New Zealand, the last match of a tour that has been marred by incessant precipitation.

Our man Andrew Fernando saw Ramith Rambukwella get his Sri Lanka cap so he will make his international debut today. What else to expect from the match apart from (no) rain…read the preview here.
