South Africa tour of Sri Lanka, 4th ODI: Sri Lanka v South Africa at Pallekele, Jul 28, 2013
Sri Lanka won by 8 wickets (with 36 balls remaining)
28 July 2013 - day/night match (50-over match)

Hashim Amla plays his first innings in Sri Lanka. Two slips

Thivi: "May be they should try opening with thirimanne. He is a test opener."

2.20: Start in ten minutes time...

Pitch: No showers for 48 hours but it has been watered, a bit more grass to hold the surface together. Bowlers will have to work hard, says Russell Arnold. So, bigger score today then?

Angelo says that he too would have batted first.

Vansh Desai: "Angelo needs to spend less time in the nets and more time practicing his toss technique. Absolutely astounding his form right now, and he's still in the side. =P"

Shekhar Mishra: "Mahela can open with Tharanga, Sanga at his position of 1 down and then Chandimal. For 3rd and 4th and 5th down shuffle Angelo Dilshan and Thirimanne as per situation."

Toss: South Africa have won the toss and they will bat first. They have made a couple of changes - Hashim Amla and Kleinveldt come in. Alviro Petersen and Ryan McLaren are not playing. McLaren is down with a hamstring strain.

Sri Lanka have made just one change. Lahiru Thirimanne comes in for Angelo Perera.

Thirimanne's return was expected.

Kusal: "Angie calls wrong again..I think his only won 1 toss since the start of the Champions Trophy. Not his fault, though. Hope Sri Lanka can defeat the pattern of chasing teams losing so far in this series."

Uwaisul Karnain: "Nice to see Hashim Amla back is fit and playing again. This time he will definitely get the chance to face his first delivery of the series since SA batting first. Finally!!"

Sam: "Would shuffling the batting order a bit help Sri Lanka? May be they can send one of the big 3 (Dilshan or Mahela) at No 6? I remember Upul Tharanga played some valuable knocks at the lower middle order sometime back.. SL badly need someone who can consolidate."

That may not be a bad idea, perhaps push Chandimal up the order. He's too low down at the moment. Give him a chance to build an innings and he just might make those big scores.

1.50pm: Good day everyone and welcome to the coverage of match 4, Pallekele. We have some good news for you straightaway. It's sunny, "sunniest it's been in a while" says Andrew Fernando. The toss will happen on time. Sri Lanka are one win away from winning the series. Read the preview here.

JP Duminy b Mendis 97 (194m 121b 7x4 2x6) SR: 80.16

6pm local: A valiant effort by Duminy to give South Africa a fighting chance. They ought to have batted out 50 overs given how Amla and Duminy progressed but 238 might still be a very competitive one here. The last wicket added 33 ... will that be the difference in the end?

The spinners brought Sri Lanka back into the game. SA have Peterson a their specialist spinner. Sri Lanka will have to fight it out on a surface that has become slower. Should be a tough chase. Join us at 6.45pm.

Uwaisul Karnain: "Hats off for Duminy as he could have easily worked his way towards his hundred, but he did put his country first."
