58.1

Herath to Chanderpaul, no run, loud appeal as he gets an orthodox delivery to comes in from outside off. Chanders had pushed well across outside off, as he played a shot. So that was never going to be out.

Herath to Nash, no run, eases a ball on off stump tp the off side for no run

West Indies 207/3   HMRKB Herath 3-0-7-0
64.1

Herath to Chanderpaul, no run, Chanders plays what seems like a suicidal reverse sweep, is given out lbw and immediately refers it. Here's what happened: That was a regulation left arm spinner from outside off, coming in with the spin. He went for the reverse sweep and did not make contact with bat. It hit the pads in front of middle and off. But something happened just before it hit his pads. It seemed to have hit the end of his fore-arm guard. Or was it the glove? If it was the former, that should be out. If latter, then it is a bat first, pad second situation. From the replay it clearly hit the arm guard. A closer look reveals it hit the gloves first. Can't be lbw after that. The decision is reversed.

64.2

Herath to Chanderpaul, no run, comes forward and pushes out to mid off

West Indies 214/3   HMRKB Herath 5-1-10-0

68.3

70.2

Herath to Nash, no run, huge appeal for bat-pad catch, Asad Raud is impassive. That turned in from outside off as Nash pushed at it, it rapped the pads and popped up to Dilshan at silly point. And replays say Rauf was right. No bat on the way up.

70.3

Herath to Nash, 1 run, this one comes in too much on leg stump and Nash picks him for a single towards wide mid on

78.4

Herath to DJ Bravo, OUT, Beauty! What a lovely combo from Rangana Herath and Prasanna! Awesome to watch. It was a flighted delivery that drifted in. Bravo went forward. The ball dipped sharply on him and Bravo stuttered out to push it to the on side, Against the turn. Mistake. The ball landed and turned away. Pras collected and broke the stumps quickly and gracefully. Gone! Mahela and Sanga rush to envelop Rangana with a big hug

82.1

Herath to Nash, no run, tossed up on off and coming in, Nash clips it with the spin to mid on

82.2

Herath to Nash, OUT, Gone, big wicket and it comes off a rather poor bal, but an astounding catch. Herath slips down the leg and the spin takes it further down. Nash set himself up for the sweep, but the fact that he was so far inside the line meant he bottom-edged it at the tail-end of his bat swing. Prasa was moving like a cat down the leg side and pouched it cleanly. Tremendous wicketkeeping and SL have an early look-in here at West Indies lower order

82.6

Herath to Sammy, no run, ooh, the carrom ball spits out and Sammy deals with it like someone who's never heard of the carom game. Shoulders arms and has his heart in the mouth as it whizzes past off stump

West Indies 252/6   HMRKB Herath 13-3-30-2
84.1

Herath to Sammy, 1 run, Sammy is away, finally manages to work Herath against the spin through mid on for a single

84.2

Herath to Baugh, no run, lovely bowling. Herath does a Warne of sorts, big spin, turning right across the face from leg stump line and takes the outside edge. Just short of slip. Baugh is betting bogged down.

84.3

Herath to Baugh, no run, defends to the off side, he's feeling for these without any clue about the turn.

84.4

Herath to Baugh, no run, defends with the spin to the off side again

84.5

Herath to Baugh, OUT, huge appeal, and he's been given lbw by Rauf. Baugh refers it immediately and I think he's being optimistic. Another orthodox left-arm spinner's delivery. Lands on a length on leg stump and Baugh goes for a sweep shot more in hope than anything. He misses and is struck flush in front of middle. The ball was breaking away, but not enough to miss off stump. Baugh is gone, West Indies are out of reviews.

CS Baugh lbw b Herath 2 (23m 20b 0x4 0x6) SR: 10.00

84.6

Herath to Benn, no run, pokes uncertainly at a ball on leg stump, it goes up off the pad into the hands of short leg. Big appeal, but that did not take an edge

West Indies 253/7   HMRKB Herath 14-3-31-3
86.1

Herath to Benn, no run, big hoick, doesn't make contact, pops off the pad (and may be bat) to silly point. Appeal is turned down, but there are no reviews left, so Sri Lanka can't do much about it. Not clear whether he got a feather.

86.2

Herath to Benn, SIX, tonked away. Short and in the slot, he set himself up and set it soaring towards midwicket with a big, violent swing of the blade.

86.3

Herath to Benn, no run, carrom ball outside leg and comically played by Benn who's probably never faced a carrom ball before. Looks to sweep and gets some glove on it, but it falls safe

86.4

86.5

86.6

Herath to Benn, no run, tossed up on middle and a stifled appeal as Benn shapes to defend off the front foot and it hits the pads

West Indies 261/7   HMRKB Herath 15-3-37-3
88.1

Herath to Sammy, 3 runs, nicely done by Sammy. Over-pitched on the pads and he did well to whip it against the spin through midwicket. Picks up three for his efforts.

88.3

Herath to Benn, no run, tossed up outside off and straightening, Benn easily covers the line and defends to the off side

88.4

Herath to Benn, no run, hilarious. Benn gets a leading edge to a delivery that's a foot outside leg stump as he looks to glance. How does one do that?

88.5

Herath to Benn, no run, full, very full outside leg stump and Benn can't make contact with the fine glance again

88.6

Herath to Benn, no run, gives it air, but its again too much leg-stumpish to trouble Benn who defends down the track

West Indies 271/7   HMRKB Herath 16-3-40-3
90.1

Herath to Benn, 1 run, on the pads yet again from Herath and at long last, Benn connects with the nurdle behind square for one

90.2

Herath to Sammy, OUT, you can go far and wide, but I doubt you will ever see a plumber lbw than that. Sammy has kept playing back to the spinners without always picking the variations, so this was on the cards. This was the orthodox left-arm spinner again from Herath, landed on off and middle and zipped through straight. Once again, Sammy tries to shuffle onto middle and off and work it to the leg side against the spin. He was bound to miss one of them. This was crashing into middle. Sammy's miserable run with the bat continues.

98.3

Herath to Roach, 1 run, on middle and off, Herath manages to work it to the leg side for one

98.4

Herath to Benn, no run, Benn is playing one of the most hilarious innings I've seen in a while. Goes down on a knee to defend a full ball on off that's turning in. Hits him on the thigh and there's a confused appeal. "Was he playing a shot there", asks the TV commentator. I don't think even Benn knows.

98.5

Herath to Benn, 2 runs, manages to steer a ball on off stump down to third man for a couple

98.6

Herath to Benn, 2 runs, Benn outdoes himself here. Tries to sweep a ball sliding down the leg. It hits the flap of the pad and slips on down the leg at which point it hits the back of the bat on it's follow through and sends it wide of Mahela at slip. Benn for president.

100.4
