In the following season he was selected in the Queensland Country team for the National Championships hosted by Barooga in southern New South Wales but injury after two matches (in which he recorded scores of 76 and 40) forced his withdrawal from the team. In 1999-00 he was not available for selection but has now returned to representative cricket to make his second appearance at the National Country Championships. He was educated at Atherton State School, at Blair State School in Ipswich for one year, and at St Augustines in Cairns. He is an electrician by trade. (Warwick Torrens, December 2000)
