3.1 to BR Dunk, and its worked! This is a scary old top edge. Both for the batsman and the fielder. Went so far in the air that both of them would have been queasy. Indeed, Russell seemed to have misjudged that when he stopped about three yards from the where the ball was set to drop. But the supreme athlete that he is, he figured it out, moved forward and took it simply. Back of a length ball, went for the heave into the leg side, mistake.. 24/1
8.1 to KC Sangakkara, and he's done it again! First-ball wicket off a new spell, but its a terribly way to go for Sanga. It's a short ball from around the wicket and tailing down leg. He goes for the pull and feathers and edge through to the wicketkeeper. 55/2
8.4 to TD Paine, a feather to the keeper! McKay has had that happy knack of hoodwinking batsmen today. What seemed like the perfect ball to dab towards third man bounces a touch more than Paine expected. Little nick taken for Hartley to mop up an easy catch. 60/3
19.4 to DJG Sammy, 104 kph, that time the change of pace works! Sammy goes for the pull to deep midwicket, and picks out the man. 158/6

17.2 to JW Wells, short of a length, so Wells backs away and sets up for the cut, but that extra bounce does the batsman in again. Solid nick through to the keeper. 125/5

9.4 to DT Christian, you beauty! Andre Russell has moved to his left, dived full length and snaps up a two-handed screamer! This was nailed too - Fawad put this in the slog and Christian went for the off drive and had nearly placed it well enough wide of the fielder. Except the man there was probably the best athlete in world cricket right now. The third umpire is being called in to make sure the catch is clean and the ball did not touch the turf as Russell fell to the ground. To me, it did not. And it's been given out. 67/4

0.4 to JH Kallis, that's a big wicket and has been brought about because of his pace. Banged in short outside off, Kallis arches back to glide it over point, but the ball flies low to Wells who takes a good catch at backward point. Dream start for the Hurricanes in front of a festive New Year's Day crowd. 1/1
0.6 to SR Watson, that is a delightful delivery, sheer pace and Watson's gone! Full and angling in from wide of the crease, the ball dips away late, Watson looks to play that down the ground but plays inside the line of the ball as the thin edge flies through to Tim Paine. Watto was disappointed with the decision, not sure why. There was a definite edge there.. 1/2
18.4 to GS Sandhu, got him this time with a beauty! Float it full and a touch ahead of good length on middle, Sandhu swings but can't connect as the ball cannons into the stumps.. 145/9

7.3 to AC Blizzard, as easy as they come. Short, enough width to play the slash, he goes too hard at it, but only manages a thick edge that flies to the third man fielder who takes it well. Had to run in a couple of metres from the ropes and he took it quite comfortably. Blizzard was just starting to settle in. 63/3
17.1 to MEK Hussey, another one bites the dust. This one was floated full, was slanting across as well, Hussey went for an almighty slog across the line, only managed a top edge that was swirling for a long, long time. The fielder at deep square leg ran around the ropes, realised it was getting away, but quickly adjusted to pull off a good low catch. Is there another twist?. 137/6
17.3 to CJ Green, what is happening here? The Hurricanes can do no wrong suddenly. It was full, he looks to back away and go over cover, only manages to get a thick edge as Paine dives full length to his right to pouch that off like a goal keeper. Green is gone!. 138/8

14.5 to BJ Rohrer, gets the elevation but not the distance as Dan Christian runs to his right from long-on and takes a good running catch. Is that the wicket that applies the choke even more? Rohrer was just getting increasingly frustrated, looked to hit that straight as a dye but dragged it a bit and the catch was taken quite cleanly. Wasn't all that easy but Christian made it look that way. 113/4
16.3 to AD Russell, steps out but can't get to the pitch, and the fielder running in from deep cover dives forward to take a good, low catch. It was dying on him but he was clear, at no stage did he look like backing off and Wells holds on to it finally. Russell's threat ends, but has it come a little too late for the Hurricanes?. 132/5
