North West sped to a 10-wicket win as Easterns collapsed in their second innings. It was a team effort from the North West attack, with six bowlers chipping in with wickets, while sharp fielding also produced two run outs. North West needed only 11 overs to reach their target of 81 and Driaan Steyn followed up his sparkling 116 with 48 in 44 balls, 44 runs of which came in boundaries.
Northerns had few problems reaching their target on the last morning at Kimberly against Griqualand West. Johannes Myburgh's unbeaten 51 guided the side across the line with only one further wicket falling after they started the day on 30 for 1. Northerns take an impressive 19.52 points from their win.
Boland's tail produced a superb rearguard performance after Western Province were on course for a handsome victory. Waylain September struck 63 from 110 balls at No. 9 and Pepler Sandri accompanied him for nearly an hour and a half. Boland were staring at defeat when Rory Kleinveldt and Mark de Stadler shared seven wickets after being set 308. Alistair Gray hit his first century to set up the target, but ultimately the Western Province bowlers couldn't overcome Boland's impressive resistance.
Border and Zimbabwe Under-23 had to settle for draw after further interruptions on the final day. Border batted on until they led by 99 with Steven Pope striking 64. The Zimbabwean top order was then blown away again by the Border attack as Lwando Lwana ripped out three wickets in five overs. With a session still to play Border were scenting the chance to press for victory but the rain had the final say.
The final day between Eastern Province and KwaZulu Natal at Port Elizabeth followed the same pattern as the second with rain preventing any play.
