The Bangladesh Cricket Board XI made a strong start in their three-day match against the Zimbabwean tourists, scoring 316 for 7 before declaring around an hour prior to the close at the Chittagong Divisional Stadium.
The opener Shahriar Nafees, who turns 19 later this month, started off with a polished 97, which included 19 fours. He put on 112 for the fourth wicket with Rajin Saleh, the Board XI's captain, who made 38. From 159 for 2 the Board XI slid to 193 for 7 - Stuart Matsikenyeri took four wickets with his flattish offspin - but then Tushar Imran took control with an impressive century. He hit nine fours and a six, and had reached 109 not out when Saleh declared.
Tushar, who has won three Test caps, put on 123 for the eighth wicket with Tareq Aziz, who had made 29 not out when the closure came.
The Zimbabweans, in their only warm-up game before the first Test starts at Chittagong's MA Aziz Stadium on Thursday (Jan 6), made 41 without loss in the 10 overs possible before stumps were drawn.
