England, Holland head for Euro showdown

England and the Netherlands have both maintained their undefeated status at the top of the European Championship Division One ladder with wins over Scotland and Italy respectively yesterday.

Steve Foster took 5/19 for the English and won man-of-the-match as Scotland fell to 104 all out in reply to England's 209 for 4. England (whose team consists of minor counties and recreational board players) face the Dutch in a critical match today at Linlithgow.

Ireland scored their first win of the tournament with a 73-run victory over last-placed Denmark. Twenty year-old Andrew White scored 111.

Gibraltar and Germany remain the only two undefeated teams in Division Two after yesterday's action, but they face each other at Uddingston today.

On Saturday, Israeli wicketkeeper Paul Amit took seven catches in their victory over France. This is believed to be a record at associate nations level for a wicketkeeper in one-day internationals, and is one better than the record held by Adam Gilchrist and Alec Stewart at full ODI level.
