Nannes to Hussey, no run, Dirt dirk lopes in and starts with an overpitched ball outside offstump, firmly pushed towards mid-off by Hussey

Nannes to Hussey, FOUR, shortish ball, 142 kmh, but that didn't look too fast for Hussey, who was in position very early to pull the ball powerfully towards midwicket, a couple of bounces over the rope

Nannes to Hussey, no run, wide outside offstump, left alone by Hussey, 140 kmh that one

Nannes to Hussey, no run, a yorker heading for middle and leg, Hussey looks rather ungainly as he blocks it

Nannes to Hussey, no run, on a length, heading for legstump, played back towards the bowler

Nannes to Hussey, no run, communication breakdown between the batsmen, that could have been the first wicket, Hussey slaps a wide ball towards point where Hodge fields, Hussey hadn't seemed too keen on a run but Vijay was charging down the track and turned back halfway through, a direct hit could have made it curtains

Chennai Super Kings 10/0   DP Nannes 1-0-4-0

Nannes to Hussey, no run, just outside off stump, Hussey carves it towards backward point, straight at the fielder

Nannes to Hussey, FOUR, short ball outside off, 143kmh, Hussey again shovels it, this time between mid-on and midwicket, the ball doesn't rise as much as Nannes would have liked, sat up for Hussey who accepts the gift

Nannes to Hussey, 1 run, fuller and slanting into off, Hussey looks to drive towards mid-off, gets an outside edge to third man

Nannes to Vijay, no run, just back of a length, angling across the batsman, who pushes the ball towards mid-on, hits very close to the bottom of the bat

Nannes to Vijay, no run, a lovely flick from Vijay, full ball on middle and off, wristy stroke from Vijay, looked good but placement was poor

Nannes to Vijay, 1 run, another flick, this was an overpitched 140.5kmh, on the pads, Vijay sends it flying towards deep backward square leg

Chennai Super Kings 23/0   DP Nannes 2-0-10-0

Nannes to Vijay, FOUR, slides down the leg first ball, umpteenth time he has started a spell like this in this tourney. Vijay gets inside the line and nudges along, very fine to fine leg

Nannes to Vijay, 1 run, bangs it in at 140 kph, angling across Vijay who plays the pull early enough to drag it across to square leg for one

Nannes to Dhoni, no run, bouncer over Dhoni's head as he ducks. Was close to a wide that, but went just over leg stump

Nannes to Dhoni, FOUR, biceps and triceps, wrists and fists! Dhoni has very little room outside off, and it is quite short, but he stays beside the line and whiplashes it through to the point boundary

Nannes to Dhoni, 1 run, back of a length, not short enough to pull, especially at 139 kph. Dhoni gets some bottom edge and it runs away square for one

Nannes to Vijay, 2 runs, slower ball from Nannes now, 126 kph. Vijay was in position to pull, then saw the change in pace, and he pulled it with a roll of the wrists behind square for one

Chennai Super Kings 116/2   DP Nannes 3-0-22-0

Nannes to Kemp, 1 run, Oh, for a normal not slow ball! 130 kph on leg and angling across, Kemp stays in the crease, probably expecting more slow stuff, and chops it to the off side for one

Nannes to Badrinath, OUT, he's out-thought him here! 144kph, short and wide outside off, Badri was clearly trying to set himself up to go over the leg side as he moved across the stumps. Nannes saw his hand, slipped it out wider outside off, Badri was forced to correct the shot and go over the off side at the last moment. Too fast for him, guided straight into Wade's gloves.

S Badrinath c †Wade b Nannes 1 (4m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

Nannes to Ashwin, FOUR, Smarts from Ashwin! Walks right across the stumps and finishes somewhere near gully when he makes contact with the paddle-scoop. Two bounces over the short fine leg and through to the boundary

Nannes to Ashwin, 1 bye, Hilarity! Ashwin does it again, finishes outside the wide marker (this time, I am not exaggerating) , but misses the paddle. Kemp comes through for a bye and dives in to make his crease, Nannes misses the ball at the non-striker's - he could have run-out Ashwin if he had collected, and there is a chance for an over throw, but Kemp can't get up soon enough.

Nannes to Kemp, SIX, Smoked! Skewered! Bbqed! At long last, a length ball at decent pace, Kemp smacks his lips and gets under it and with a small fluid motion of nhis hands sends it soaring over midwicket. Boy, what a hit!

Nannes to Kemp, 1 run, Nannes finishes with a yorker wide outside off, Kemp stays back but can't get under this one and squeezes it behind square for one

Chennai Super Kings 162/6   DP Nannes 4-0-34-1
