Kumar to Raina, 1 run, back of a length outside off, Raina opens the face and runs it off the backfoot behind square for one

Kumar to Raina, no run, run out appeal against Vijay and this is touch and go. Raina tucked it away off his pads towards Pandey at square leg, who was alert seeing Vijay backing up and threw down the stumps at the bowler's end. Vijay has made his ground, but only just. He wasn't at full stretch.

Kumar to Raina, 1 run, angling across, back of a length, Raina looks to swing it across the line to the leg side and doesn't make contact too well. They steal a single near his feet

Chennai Super Kings 30/1   SK Raina 2* (3b)

Kohli to Raina, no run, another near miss run out. Kohli charges across in his follow through towards the leg side and quickly throws back towards the non-striker's end. Vijay would have been gone if he'd hit.

Kohli to Raina, SIX, Raina has swung this off the meat and over the square leg boundary. Not very good line, it was on the pads, and not very good length, Raina got under it and slammed it

Kohli to Raina, 2 runs, pushes this well outside off and Raina looks to launch it over the covers, picks a couple towards wide long off

Kohli to Raina, 1 run, shortens the length, Raina stays in the crease and works it off his body for one to midwicket

Kohli to Raina, SIX, slog sweep. Well, Steyn's injury is going to hurt Bangalore here. Kohli lands another one in Raina's favourite slot. Length ball on off stump, he goes down on a knee and smacks it over wide long on. Brutal and effective. I don't think he would have handled Steyn in the same way though.

Chennai Super Kings 50/1   SK Raina 17* (8b 2x6)

Kumble to Raina, 1 run, back of a length, skidder at 96 kph, Raina works it past Kumble to long on for one

Kumble to Raina, 1 run, Pandey has pulled off something special in the outfield. Raina went for the slog sweep, could not quite get under it and it did not go too high towards midwicket. Pandey seemed to have misjudged it initially and come in. He then backpedalled quickly, leapt away towards the ropes and intercepted the ball, throwing it back into play as he landed outside the roped area. Kumble is not happy though!

Kumble to Raina, 1 run, Raina is looking to charge Kumble, but these lengths are un-chargeable. He is forced to stay back and tuck it to short fine leg

Chennai Super Kings 56/1   SK Raina 20* (11b 2x6)

du Preez to Raina, SIX, Raina has mowed this into deep midwicket, and I reckon that would have disturbed the rain clouds. Length ball from du Preez, on off stump and angling away. Enough room for Raina to flex his muscles and he sends it soaring into the night.

du Preez to Raina, 1 run, bangs it shorter, Raina stays in the crease and tucks it to wards midwicket.

du Preez to Raina, SIX, short ball? What short ball? Take that says Raina, who is playing a blinder! He almost pulled that from over his head, bringing the bat down in a really brutal swing. That went very high and landed over cow corner

du Preez to Raina, no run, run out appeal and Vijay is on the dock again. Raina is hitting the ball so hard, he seems to have broken his bat this time as he looked to carve it over cover. It dribbled away to the off side, du Preez cleans up quickly and throws down the stumps at the non-strikers. Again, Vijay is not at full tilt, and again, he is saved by a frame.

du Preez to Raina, 1 run, wider outside off, Raina stays put and opens the face to pick a single square.

Chennai Super Kings 71/1   SK Raina 34* (16b 4x6)

Kumble to Raina, 1 run, googly, short of a length, Raina plays from the crease towards wide mid on for one

Kumble to Raina, (no ball) 2 runs, well, Kumble has over-stepped and he will be livid. Raina picks two to long on, meaning he faces the free hit

Kumble to Raina, 2 runs, well, he dodges a bullet with a very full ball outside off, Raina can't connect with the slog sweep and it runs along the turf to deep midwicket. They pick two, the ball returns and Kumble is shouting at everyone! I am not sure, why!

Chennai Super Kings 78/1   SK Raina 39* (19b 4x6)

du Preez to Raina, 2 runs, Raina stays in the crease and deftly guides it to deep third man where Dravid slips as he fields, conceding the second

du Preez to Raina, 1 run, yorker on off stump to finish the over, Raina stays back and drives it wide of mid off to retain strike

Chennai Super Kings 90/1   SK Raina 42* (21b 4x6)

Kumble to Raina, 2 runs, googly looping across Raina, who picks it and places it expertly behind square for a couple

Kumble to Raina, 1 run, Raina looks to come out, Kumble holds it back and leaves him in no man's land. He gets an inside edge on to the pads, into the off side for a single

Kumble to Raina, 1 run, What happened there? Dravid at short third man seems to have lost the ball, and hence backed out of what should have been a simple catch if he came forward. Raina top-edged the hoick to midwicket and it swirled up towards short third man. Dravid did not pick it at all and bears the brunt of the coldest of stares from the repertoire of Anil Kumble!

Kumble to Raina, 1 run, Raina glances one very fine and picks another single. Again he retains strike. Is this a conspiracy?

Chennai Super Kings 97/1   SK Raina 47* (25b 4x6)

Vinay Kumar to Raina, no run, Raina looks to blast a length ball coming in from outside off and misses.

Vinay Kumar to Raina, 1 run, short ball, Raina pulls easily along the ground to square leg for one

Vinay Kumar to Raina, 1 run, yorker outside off, even the rampant Raina can't put it away, he picks a single with a steer behind square.

Vinay Kumar to Raina, SIX, Raina can play that shot in Durban, or he can at Wimbledon. A violent cross court slam, its not a pull - he is on the front foot and the momentum is going forward. He has just slapped it from outside off well over midwicket. That's his fifty, what an innings this has been. Five sixes, and no fours.

Chennai Super Kings 106/2   SK Raina 55* (29b 5x6)

White to Raina, (no ball) 1 run, The free-hit is a no-ball as well. Short and wide outside off, Raina can't time the back foot cross batted punch, and takes a single. A free hit for Dhoni now.

White to Raina, no run, 120.5 kph, short and wide outside off, Raina wants more pace on the ball, he is charging out and looking for muscle, but he can't connect

White to Raina, 1 wide, this one slips well wide outside off. Steyn is being missed here.

White to Raina, 1 run, another short ball, at 119 kph, Raina can't time it again, single to wide long on

Chennai Super Kings 113/2   SK Raina 57* (32b 5x6)

du Preez to Raina, 1 run, low full toss, wide outside off and Raina runs it off the face of the bat to point for one

Chennai Super Kings 125/2   SK Raina 58* (33b 5x6)

Kumble to Raina, FOUR, googly, but too short and coming into Raina. I don't think he picked it. He got some top edge, but square leg was vacant

Kumble to Raina, FOUR, Well, Kumble has the variations going, but Raina is smartly staying in the crease to pick him off the pitch. Another straight one, sliding across, Raina waits for it to come beside him outside off and slaps it through the covers. Supreme placement. Eludes all the fielders and finds the ropes

Kumble to Raina, SIX, he's teed off this time. Raina is playing a special innings here. Kumble tosses it up, Raina saw it early, came forward, took it from a length on leg stump line and spanked it high over square leg. Straight bat and very good timing

Kumble to Raina, 2 runs, goes a little wider on the crease to mix it up, Raina picks the angle and works it to midwicket for two more

Kumble to Raina, 2 runs, short again on leg stump, Raina focuses on getting the pull shot fine to beat Pandey running across from deep square leg. He does really well to intercept and fire it back in. Raina did even better to hare back and dive into his crease as Uthappa failed to collect the wide return cleanly

Kumble to Raina, 1 run, Anil Kumalinga there! Throws that it almost side arm, as a variation and Raina gets it away for a single

Chennai Super Kings 152/3   SK Raina 77* (39b 2x4 6x6)

Vinay Kumar to Raina, 2 runs, Raina plays it square from full and wide outside off, nice placement for two more

Vinay Kumar to Raina, no run, short and coming in from wide, Raina looks for the heave ho across the line and misses

Vinay Kumar to Raina, 1 run, 130.9 kph, smart line and length, wide yorkers outside off, Raina bends down to steer it to third man

Vinay Kumar to Raina, 1 run, low full toss on off stump, driven fluently into the covers for a single

Chennai Super Kings 161/3   SK Raina 81* (43b 2x4 6x6)

White to Raina, FOUR, well, starts with a 101 kph length ball on leg stump, Raina could have hit it anywhere on the leg side, but pulled it very fine past short fine leg for four

White to Raina, FOUR, another short ball, angles across, well outside off and Raina dismisses it with a cross-batted swat - tremendous bat swing to send it away to third man. Nearly a six that

White to Raina, 1 run, slow, slow stuff, Raina waits and wait and cross bats it to the covers., Manjrekar defines the ball as a 'donkey drop'

White to Raina, no run, somehow, White is escaping with these short deliveries. Raina misses with the pull again and Uthappa cleans up.

White to Raina, FOUR, and that sums up the innings. Another short gift from White and Raina has it for dessert before running back into the dug out. Pulled high and to the left of midwicket, the fielder runs across and dives. I hope he did not pick an injury in the process. The ball speeds past to the boundary. Raina has finished with a bang.

Chennai Super Kings 174/4   SK Raina 94* (48b 5x4 6x6)
