Broad to Warner, OUT, got him! Poor stroke, clipped straight to point. Just short of a length and Warner has picked out Carberry square on the off side. He lives and dies by the sword and in trying to be uber-aggressive again, Warner pops up an easy catch with a flicked back-foot drive. The delivery might have just stopped in the wicket a little, and it actually just nipped away a touch, it certainly didn't come on as Warner was hoping. Important strike for England after leaking a few runs early doors

DA Warner c Carberry b Broad 29 (36m 32b 4x4 0x6) SR: 90.62

Australia 34/1   CJL Rogers 5* (16b)   SCJ Broad 4-0-18-1

Anderson to Watson, OUT, Anderson has done it! And with a super return catch, great reflexes. Watson has gone for the big straight drive but this ball bounces more than he expects, so it comes off higher on the bat and stays in the air long enough for Anderson to grasp it with both hands at ankle height. Very good catch

SR Watson c & b Anderson 51 (160m 119b 6x4 1x6) SR: 42.85

Australia 155/2   CJL Rogers 72* (162b 11x4)   JM Anderson 12-4-33-1

Swann to Rogers, OUT, another wicket! Rogers is gone! Two in two overs after nothing seemed to be happening for them, Swann gets one to turn a bit more from short of a length, Rogers dabs at it as if trying to push to cover and his edge is taken by Prior - Rogers was walking, didn't even wait for the umpire to give him out. Well, what a huge couple of overs for England

CJL Rogers c †Prior b Swann 72 (199m 167b 11x4 0x6) SR: 43.11

Australia 155/3   MJ Clarke 0* (0b)   GP Swann 12.5-1-35-1

Panesar to Smith, OUT, Panesar strikes! Beautiful delivery, the turn away from the right-handers has done the job. Smith has played from the crease and defended with far from a straight bat - it was angled horribly - and the ball turns past it to clip the off stump. Lovely ball, poor shot, and England are on top

SPD Smith b Panesar 6 (22m 17b 1x4 0x6) SR: 35.29

Australia 174/4   MJ Clarke 9* (18b 2x4)   MS Panesar 15.3-4-30-1

Broad to Bailey, OUT, super catch! Bailey is gone, and it's the Broad bouncer that does the job. Bailey went for the hook, it flew off the bat but in the air, and Swann at square leg hurls himself up and to his right, clasps the ball safely and Bailey's entertaining innings has come to an end

GJ Bailey c Swann b Broad 53 (111m 93b 4x4 3x6) SR: 56.98

Australia 257/5   MJ Clarke 39* (87b 4x4)   SCJ Broad 16.3-3-57-2

Stokes to Clarke, OUT, what is this? A wicket! Stokes this time has his first Test victim! Clarke has tried to turn this through square leg but a leading edge lobs up to midwicket where Anderson dives forward to take the catch. And relief for Stokes as his foot was safely behind the line this time!

MJ Clarke c Anderson b Stokes 148 (350m 245b 17x4 0x6) SR: 60.40

Australia 457/6   BJ Haddin 86* (148b 7x4 4x6)   BA Stokes 13.1-2-45-1

Swann to Johnson, OUT, and there's another wicket! Johnson has misjudged Graeme Swann's flight, driving uppishly and trying to clear mid-on but it has provided Stuart Broad with one of the simpler catches he will take. Might have been a bit of over-spin from Swann too, well bowled

MG Johnson c Broad b Swann 5 (13m 13b 1x4 0x6) SR: 38.46

Australia 474/7   BJ Haddin 98* (155b 10x4 4x6)   GP Swann 31.3-3-111-2

Stokes to Siddle, OUT, Stokes has his second wicket, and that was a lovely delivery! He's angled this in and managed to get this ball to straighten a bit, Siddle plays straight and gets a thick edge through to the keeper

PM Siddle c †Prior b Stokes 2 (11m 9b 0x4 0x6) SR: 22.22

Australia 483/8   BJ Haddin 105* (164b 11x4 4x6)   BA Stokes 16.3-2-64-2

Broad to Haddin, OUT, slashes at a wide one and nicks behind and England have finally removed Australia's wicketkeeper. Quite a lazy cut stroke at a wide delivery without moving his feet and it took a thick top edge that carried low through to Prior who took the catch smartly

BJ Haddin c †Prior b Broad 118 (274m 177b 11x4 5x6) SR: 66.66

Australia 529/9   RJ Harris 31* (37b 3x4 2x6)   SCJ Broad 27.5-3-92-3
