Broad to Siddle, no run, shaping away in the corridor, Siddle shoulders arms

Broad to Siddle, FOUR, gets a bit luck this time, the ball leaving Siddle outside off, he tries to withdraw his bat but is too late and a thick edge flies low wide of third slip

Broad to Siddle, 3 runs, on the pads, manages to squeeze the ball out through square and Pietersen lollops round to field again

Australia 296/4   PM Siddle 7* (4b 1x4)

Anderson to Siddle, no run, this is the inswinger, swerves back at Siddle late and he wears it on the groin

Anderson to Siddle, no run, length ball, again shaping back at the batsman, who defends

Anderson to Siddle, FOUR, full and sliding down the leg side, just a tickle of bat on it but the ball races to fine leg for four

Anderson to Siddle, no run, that's a jaffa, not an orange but a banana ball, the outswinger fired in full and curling away past Siddle's outside edge as he pushed blindly at it

Anderson to Siddle, 1 run, full length and beginning to swing away from the batsman late again, gets some bat on this and squirts one through the covers

Australia 301/4   PM Siddle 12* (9b 2x4)

Broad to Siddle, 2 runs, pitched up in the channel outside off, Siddle leans into a push-drive through the covers, plenty of gaps for him and they pick up two

Broad to Siddle, 2 runs, more runs, as Siddle fends at a length ball, seemed to be expecting something shorter, manages to guide it away through backward point off the outside half of the bat

Broad to Siddle, no run, digs the ball in short, it sails over Siddle as he folds himself neatly in half

Broad to Siddle, no run, fullish and slightly wide of the stumps, prodded into the off side

Broad to Siddle, 2 runs, pitched up outside off, pushed into the covers on the walk and beats the diving fielder, holds up a few yards from the rope, they settle for two

Australia 307/4   PM Siddle 18* (15b 2x4)

Broad to Siddle, no run, touch short of a good length but there's appreciable swing for Broad, Siddle leaving it alone outside off

Broad to Siddle, no run, coo, that's a ripper! On a length, angled towards the batsman and then zipping, kicking away off the pitch, climbing past the outside edge as Siddle jerked his bat inside like a man who has inadvertently touched a hot saucepan

Broad to Siddle, no run, fuller and sliding towards leg, Siddle walks across and it flicks the pads, Prior does well to stop it on the scramble to his left

Broad to Siddle, no run, length delivery in the channel, gets forward and pokes into the covers

Broad to Siddle, 2 runs, straighter, bit of extra bounce off a length and Siddle scoops it wide of midwicket, picks up a couple more

Australia 315/4   PM Siddle 20* (21b 2x4)

Broad to Siddle, no run, dug in slightly back of a length, Siddle wears it in the bread basket, beaten for pace attempting to pull

Broad to Siddle, no run, not quite a play and a miss, as Sids thinks about flirting with a ball leaving him but just manages to rein himself in

Broad to Siddle, no run, definitely beaten this time, another snorter from Broad, too good for a tailender, really, the ball straightening and rising viciously past the edge of the bat

Broad to Siddle, no run, this maybe stopped in the pitch a touch, the ball popping up short off the bat on the leg side

Broad to Siddle, 3 runs, in the channel, maybe a touch overpitched and threaded through a gap in the covers

Australia 318/4   PM Siddle 23* (26b 2x4)

Anderson to Siddle, OUT, bowled him with a beaut, Anderson has Siddle again! And just as Australia's nightwatchman was approaching his highest score of the summer... The ball has been shaping nicely for Anderson, this was speared on in off, appeared to be drifting on to the pads and Siddle went to whip it to leg, too late noticed the ball curling away to clip the top of off

PM Siddle b Anderson 23 (35m 27b 2x4 0x6) SR: 85.18
