Visit the Akshardham temple
I frequent temples way too often and it's only apt that one of India's best is on the top of my must-dos list. Built on the banks of the Yamuna, the Akshardham temple epitomises Hindu culture in all its grandeur and beauty. There's a brilliant light-and-sound presentation, a fascinating boat ride, a musical fountain that plays Vedic prayers, and sprawling lush-green gardens. Even if you aren't half as religious as I am, I'd strongly recommend a visit. Aakash Chopra

Walk in the Lodhi Gardens
This 90-acre green space in the heart of Delhi, is dotted with medieval ruins, beautiful walks and laughing picnickers and a smattering of bird life.

Walk by India Gate
A visit to Delhi is incomplete without a walk by this most iconic monument. It stands proudly in Central Delhi (5km from Connaught Place). Get there around sunset. Don't forget to try some ice-cream from the numerous vendors who set up shop near the monument.
