Many of us would remember the infamous MCG Test when Murali was called for throwing by Darell Hair, but who was the first bowler to suffer that embarrassment? Check out what happened this day in 1898.

Lets take a look at our specials panel. Andrew Miller, our UK Editor, reviews England's 2009. We continue our review of the 2000s with Peter Roebuck's piece on how batsmen dominated the decade; for a recap exclusively based on stats, read S Rajesh's article.

We'll get you the updated XIs in a bit, keep a watch on the space above. A busy time for cricket, this, with two other games underway. Pakistan have the upper-hand against Australia in Sydney, while Jacques Kallis has defied England with a century in Cape Town.

Still 28 minutes to go for the start, so spend the remaining time checking out the tournament preview from our man in Bangladesh Sriram Veera, and the match preview from Kanishkaa Balachandran, who's writing the bulletin for this game.

Time for the toss. Sangakkara calls heads and wins. Sri Lanka have decided to bowl. The dew, he says, prompted the decision, given that the bowlers might have a hard time gripping the ball in the evening. Kulasekara and Chamara Silva are back in the XI. Shakib says he would have fielded first as well, but doesn't mind setting a target. More than 250, he thinks, is a reasonable score. Shafiul Islam, the fast bowler, will be making his debut.

Thanks for filling in George. Sunil Gavaskar gives us the pitch report, and says it is a good batting track but the ball might skid on a bit. Expect over 500 runs, he says. Slightly overcast conditions to begin with.

Good afternoon and welcome to Cricinfo's coverage of the tri-series in Dhaka, involving Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India. The tournament kicks off with Bangladesh taking on Sri Lanka at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium. Siddhartha Talya will be your commentator for the start of the game but he's figuring out how to switch on his computer at the moment.

Dew is expected to be heavy this evening - it's been a factor in previous series - so expect the captain who wins the toss to field first. The toss is nine minutes away ...
