ICC World Twenty20 - 10th match, Group D

India v Pakistan

Match tied (India won the bowl-out)

Toss 5.43 pm local time Shoaib Malik has won the toss and put India in.

India have retained the same XI which would have played against Scotland.

India: 1 Virender Sehwag, 2 Robin Uthappa, 3 Gautam Gambhir, 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 Dinesh Karthik, 6 Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt & wk), 7 Irfan Pathan, 8 Ajit Agarkar, 9 Harbhajan Singh, 10 RP Singh, 11 Sreesanth.

Pakistan: 1 Salman Butt, 2 Shahid Afridi, 3 Imran Nazir, 4 Sohail Tanvir, 5 Younis Khan, 6 Shoaib Malik (capt), 7 Misbah-ul-Haq, 8 Kamran Akmal (wk), 9 Yasir Arafat, 10 Umar Gul, 11 Mohammad Asif.

5.30 pm The weather is OK at the moment. It isn't raining at Kingsmead but it is overcast. The possibility of rain has been estimated at 60%.

Kingsmead is steadily filling up. There's a sizable Asian population in Durban and there should be strong support for both sides. The dancers are walking around the boundary, ready to take their positions.

5.05 pm After last night's disappointment, the weather has assumed paramount importance for today's high-profile clash. S Rajesh, Cricinfo's man at Kingsmead, says that it's cloudy with patches of blue sky. There is no immediate threat of rain and here's hoping it stays that way.

5.00 pm Hello everybody and welcome to Cricinfo's coverage of the crucial Group D match between India and Pakistan at Kingsmead. I'm George Binoy, your commentator for this game.

Here's how the group stands at the moment. Pakistan are through to the Super Eights after taking two points against Scotland. India and Scotland have a point each because of the last evening's washout. S Rajesh's preview has the lowdown on what's at stake.

"If India lose [today] such that their run-rate is more than 2.55 lesser than Pakistan's (by more than 51 runs if Pakistan score 160, or if Pakistan chase down India's 160 in 15 overs or lesser), they will be knocked out of the Super Eights stage of a World Cup for the second time in one year."

And if today's game is also washed out - there is a 60% chance of rain in Durban - India will gain a point and progress to the Super Eights.

Despite all the talk by Mahendra Singh Dhoni to the contrary, the Indians will be feeling the pressure when they step out at Kingsmead on Friday. They will do well to remained focused on the task at hand after hearing the news from back home that Rahul Dravid has resigned as captain.

With the likes of Shahid Afridi and Dhoni in the line-ups, expect boundaries. See if you can match them on Cricinfo's slogout. Play now!.

Our man at the ground S Rajesh tells us he's "surprised by the low turn-out for this big game. There are plenty of empty seats all around. One thing is that what support there is, is mostly for India. The tri-colour of the Indian flag easily outnumbers the Pakistani flags."

Sajan Nair, who has been monitoring the weather closely says "Radar now almost clear of any rain." This despite an almost 60% chance of rain according to some forecasts.

The Pakistani players are coming out onto the field now. One by one they all cross the ropes and begin to take their places in the outfield.

The Indian batsmen are now coming out to the middle. The rest of the Indian team is walking to the dug-out. It's Virender Sehwag to open, and he'll be partnered by Gautam Gambhir.

Mohammad Asif will start for Pakistan
