England Under-19 opening batsman Mark Stoneman has received a serious reprimand for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the match against Ireland at Colombo Cricket Club on Wednesday.
Stoneman was found guilty of causing damage in the team dressing room ICC match referee Alan Hurst in a hearing after the match. He was found to have breached 1.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct which relates to the abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings.
"The player apologised for his actions and expressed embarrassment and regret at what he did," Hurst explained. "He now realises there is no place for this sort of behaviour in international cricket."
