Profile

A right-handed batsman, Shir Shirzai was named Afghanistan's captain for the 2010 Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand. He was one of the highest run-scorers in the ACC U-19 Elite Cup 2009 with 193 runs, including a century against Qatar. His favourite shot is the cover drive and he compares his batting style to Jacques Kallis. He plans to take up umpiring in future.
