Graham Botting was a capable wicketkeeper with few pretensions with the bat who played for Central Districts and then Otago in the early 1950s. His first-class debut came in 1948-49 when he played in the Test trial, but oddly he did not keep and batted at No. 9, and it was almost two-year before his state debut. He was no batsman but did make 37 and 40* against Fiji in 1947-48.
