Now into his thirties, Mark Colegrave has long been a highly regarded pace bowler in Tasmanian club competition. Tall and ruggedly built, he has a clean, uncomplicated action, and generates a good degree of pace and swing. For much of his career, Colegrave has balanced his love for cricket against a long stint as a local footballing star for the Hobart and Clarence Football Clubs. But a decision at the start of 1999 to concentrate solely on cricket was ultimately rewarded with his attainment of a senior state contract for the first time in June 2000.
