New Zealand Cricket has expressed disappointment over Richard Hadlee's apparent move to the unsanctioned American Premier League. Hadlee's appointment as the APL's executive consultant came in the same week former England internationals Adam Hollioake and Graeme Hick signed to play in the tournament, according to the Telegraph.
As exclusively revealed by Cricinfo last month, New York entrepreneur Jay Mir is actively recruiting past and present players for a six-team Twenty20 league to be played at the 10,000-seat home of minor league baseball team, the Staten Island Yankees, in October. John Emburey and Inzamam-ul-Haq are among the higher-profile names to have linked with the APL, and more players, many from the ICL's ranks, are expected to sign in the coming weeks.
NZC chief executive Justin Vaughan said he was disappointed at Hadlee's reported move to the APL. "It's regrettable he's aligned with an unsanctioned and unofficial circuit," Vaughan told the Sunday Star-Times in New Zealand. "It's certainly not preferrable but he's got his life to lead.''

another useless argument about 20 20 cricket
Posted by Muqs on (April 25 2009, 16:27 PM GMT)ICC need to st with Jay Mir n USACA to make a great concept like this a recognized one. it will be better to change the concept a bit, rather than creating teams Jay Mir can team up with ICC and USACA and invite the actual Indian,Pakistani and WestIndies cricket team. Along with it the actual USA cricket team must be there, but two teams that is a WORLD XI can be formed by the organizer itself and a team formed by hunting talent is really a great concept so this team should turn into reality. All in all, its looks better if any high profile cricket tournament organized by anyone gets the backing by ICC and the cricket boards. It will be much better to see the original INDIA, Pakistan, West Indies and USA cricket playing against world Xi and fan's team formed by the entrepreneur.
