Profile

A genuine all-rounder, Mike first appeared for the Scottish side in 1991 and was immediately successful, scoring a 50 in his first game (against the England Amateur XI). Since that time he has played 19 times for his country with a top score of 64 not out against Transvaal Under 23s during Scotland's tour of 1992 to Johannesburg. His best bowling was the man of the match winning performance of 4 for 35 against Netherlands last season. A noted all-round athlete Mike has represented the Scotland B XI at rugby, playing scrum half, and could well have made progress to the full Scotland side but for a severe knee injury. He plays golf and squash as well as being a keen skier and is a school master at Fettes College, Edinburgh.
