ICC World Cup - 17th match, Group D

Pakistan v Zimbabwe

Pakistan won by 93 runs (D/L method)

6.3

Chigumbura to Kamran Akmal, OUT, weak backfoot prod, no footwork, he chased it and a thin edge was caught by Taylor, although he did his best to drop it, as he has a number of other balls in the tournament to date. But he clung on, and Zimbabwe have the breakthrough

Kamran Akmal c †Taylor b Chigumbura 15 (30m 26b 2x4 0x6) SR: 57.69

Pakistan 31/1   Imran Nazir 13* (14b 2x4)   E Chigumbura 1.3-0-7-1

17.4

Williams to Shoaib Malik, OUT, gone! Very well bowled indeed. He came charging down the pitch too early - Williams saw him coming, dropped it in short and the batsman dabbed it to Chibhabha at point

Shoaib Malik c Chibhabha b Williams 21 (51m 32b 2x4 1x6) SR: 65.62

Pakistan 88/2   Imran Nazir 43* (49b 5x4 1x6)   SC Williams 0.4-0-5-1

27.4

Mupariwa to Inzamam-ul-Haq, OUT, fine catch, a very fine catch to end a brilliant batsman's one-day career. Inzamam trying to launch another six over long-on but got an outside edge behind Williams' head at mid-off who jogged back and took it in front of his nose. Fine catch

Inzamam-ul-Haq c Williams b Mupariwa 37 (32m 35b 2x4 3x6) SR: 105.71

Pakistan 158/3   Imran Nazir 73* (75b 8x4 2x6)   T Mupariwa 6.4-1-22-1

30.4

Brent to Mohammad Yousuf, OUT, half volley, hit straight back at Brent who holds a comfortable return catch without any alarms. A tame dismissal but one which Zimbabwe needed as Pakistan were beginning to press on

Mohammad Yousuf c & b Brent 3 (12m 10b 0x4 0x6) SR: 30.00

Pakistan 170/4   Imran Nazir 82* (83b 9x4 2x6)   GB Brent 4.4-0-31-1

40.1

Mupariwa to Younis Khan, 1 run, OUT, driven to the man in the deep on the off, Younis Khan came back for the second and had the thrown from Mpofu been spot on that would have been easily out ... as it is it's referred to the third umpire and Younis is six inches short. We've knocked Taylor a few times but he did really well there to gather the high return and whip the bails off, and Mpofu did a great job in the deep

Younis Khan run out 28 (41m 31b 1x4 1x6) SR: 90.32

Pakistan 252/5   Imran Nazir 135* (109b 13x4 6x6)   T Mupariwa 8.1-1-30-1

43.1

Brent to Shahid Afridi, OUT, slower ball ... so slow it needed motion detectors to track ... Afridi played all round it and was bowled round his legs

Shahid Afridi b Brent 16 (14m 10b 1x4 1x6) SR: 160.00

Pakistan 285/6   Imran Nazir 152* (117b 14x4 7x6)   GB Brent 8.1-0-51-2

44.1

Mpofu to Imran Nazir, OUT, super catch by Matsikenyeri at deepish extra cover. Nazir looked to drive the ball but it was wide and he had to reach for it. He connected, but with limited power, and Matsikenyeri, the shortest man in the side, took a few steps back, jumped and held the ball above his head as he fell

Imran Nazir c Matsikenyeri b Mpofu 160 (201m 121b 14x4 8x6) SR: 132.23

Pakistan 295/7   Mohammad Sami 2* (2b)   CB Mpofu 7.1-1-54-1

45.5

Brent to Mohammad Sami, OUT, mistimed flick to leg, it ends up as a nothing shot, the ball loops to Matsikenyeri at midwicket and he has to dive forward - almost in slow motion - to complete the catch

Mohammad Sami c Utseya b Brent 5 (12m 10b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

Pakistan 301/8   Iftikhar Anjum 2* (2b)   GB Brent 9.5-0-64-3

47.5

Chigumbura to Umar Gul, OUT, Gul takes a big step towards leg and aims an expansive slam through the covers, Chigumbura fires in an off-stump yorker and it's too good for the tailender

Umar Gul b Chigumbura 10 (9m 6b 2x4 0x6) SR: 166.66

Pakistan 324/9   Iftikhar Anjum 14* (8b 2x4)   E Chigumbura 5.5-1-32-2

49.5

Chigumbura to Iftikhar Anjum, OUT, cross-batted swipe which Matsikenyeri at cow corner takes with ease

Iftikhar Anjum c Matsikenyeri b Chigumbura 32 (25m 16b 2x4 2x6) SR: 200.00

Pakistan 349/10   Danish Kaneria 6* (4b 1x4)   E Chigumbura 6.5-1-50-3
