ICC World Cup, 19th Match, Group A: Netherlands v Scotland at Basseterre, Mar 22, 2007
ICC World Cup - 19th match, Group A
Netherlands won by 8 wickets (with 157 balls remaining)
Played at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts (neutral venue)
22 March 2007 (50-over match)

9.50am The players have taken the field in bright sunshine. Asoka de Silva and Tony Hill are the umpires for today's game. Billy Stelling has the new ball and will operate from over the wicket. Majid Haq and Navdeep Poonia are Scotland's openers.

9.27am: The shower has passed and the covers are coming off. There will be a minor delay and play will begin at 9.50am.

9.20am local time We're ten minutes away from the scheduled start and there's some bad news. A light drizzle has forced the groundstaff to cover the pitch. No news of a delay as yet. It's got a touch heavier and there's a bit of sunshine too. The weather during this World Cup has been just bizarre.

Hello everybody and welcome to Cricinfo's live coverage of the 19th match of the 2007 World Cup. Today's game is between Netherlands and Scotland at Basseterre in St Kitts. It's the first dead rubber of the World Cup with both teams already out of the tournament. However, these contests between minnows could turn out to be rather exciting; it might even end in a tie. Stay tuned ... I'm George Binoy and I'll be your commentator for the day.

Toss: Netherlands have won the toss and will bowl.

Netherlands have dropped their captain Luuk van Troost. That's a brave call, to drop yourself, and something that's almost unheard of in the present day. Jeroen Smits, the wicketkeeper, will lead the side. Netherlands have also brought in Eric Szwarczynski, Billy Stelling and Mohammad Kashif in place of Adeel Raja, Alexei Kervezee and van Troost.

Scotland have brought in their captain Craig Wright and Navdeep Poonia while Dewald Nel misses out.

Both Netherlands and Scotland haven't made any sort of impact on the tournament - unlike fellow minnows Ireland - unless you count Daan van Bunge's 36 against Herschelle Gibbs. So they will be keyed up to leave the Caribbean with a win under their belts.

The pitch looks dry, flat and full of runs. There were some scattered showers last night and early this morning but the game will start on time.

Thanks all for joining our pick-your-own-XI contest. Here, based on most votes received, are the teams that you selected (and 90 per cent van Troost will play!):

Netherlands: Tim de Leede, Jeroen Smits, Darron Reekers, Bas Zuiderent, Luuk van Troost, Adeel Raja, Daan van Bunge, Ryan ten Doeschate, Peter Borren, Alexei Kervezee, Mark Jonkman

Scotland: Gavin Hamilton, Craig Wright, John Blain, Majid Haq, Dougie Brown, Ryan Watson, Paul Hoffmann, Navdeep Poonia, Colin Smith, Dewald Nel, Neil McCallum
