ICC World Cup - 20th match, Group B
Sri Lanka won by 69 runs
Played at Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad (neutral venue)
23 March 2007 (50-over match)

Khan to Jayasuriya, OUT, Huge wicket. A nervous-looking Jayasuriya falls. Just how he went in the 1996 semi-final. Caught at wide third man. Prasad was the fielder then, Agarkar is the man now. Full and outside off and the Matara blaster couldn't resist a flash. He freed his arms, got a top-edge that went swirling to Agarkar at squarish third man, who held it. One down and what a big wicket.

Sri Lanka 33/1   WU Tharanga 14* (20b 2x4)   Z Khan 4-0-10-1

Agarkar to Jayawardene, OUT, What an acrobatic effort from Dhoni. Is it his best ever? Fullish, down the legside - didn't deserve a wicket, try telling that to Agarkar, and Mahela flicked it. But it doesn't go off the meat of the bat as the bat-handle rotates and the bat-face shuts and it flies to left of Dhoni who goes airbourne, parallel to the ground and takes it with both hands. Stunning effort and Sri Lanka are under pressure. Two down now.

Sri Lanka 53/2   WU Tharanga 23* (34b 3x4)   AB Agarkar 4.4-1-17-1

Ganguly to Sangakkara, OUT, Ganguly gets the breakthrough! Inspired captaincy to bring Ganguly into the attack? Sangakkara goes after one that is pitched just short of a driving length and tries to whack it over long-on. The timing is good but perhaps too good, the ball floats across and seems to hang in the air for a fair bit before Munaf Patel runs a few yards to his right and takes a good catch

KC Sangakkara c Patel b Ganguly 15 (50m 35b 2x4 0x6) SR: 42.85

Sri Lanka 92/3   WU Tharanga 44* (64b 5x4)   SC Ganguly 1.3-0-7-1

Tendulkar to Tharanga, OUT, Tendulkar takes out the well-set Tharanga. Full in length, lands on the middle stump line and shapes down. Tharanga is walking all over the crease and tries to dab it to the on side, fails and is hit in front of leg and middle. Would have hit leg. Tendulkar is getting some movement there. In the previous over, it was in the air and now, it is off the track.

WU Tharanga lbw b Tendulkar 64 (154m 90b 6x4 0x6) SR: 71.11

Sri Lanka 133/4   LPC Silva 18* (28b 1x4)   SR Tendulkar 1.2-0-4-1

Patel to Dilshan, OUT, produces the nick this time. Dilshan's lovely cameo comes to an end. Length-delivery outside off stump and Dilshan tries to drill it on the up but ends up nicking to Dhoni. Sri Lanka are on 216 for 5.

TM Dilshan c †Dhoni b Patel 38 (53m 41b 3x4 0x6) SR: 92.68

Sri Lanka 216/5   LPC Silva 59* (67b 5x4)   MM Patel 8.4-1-30-1

Khan to Silva, OUT, now Silva falls. Just like Dilshan did, he also walks without waiting for the umpire's call. Zaheer gets him with a slower one. An off cutter. Full and outside off and Silva is through with his off drive a touch too early. Gets a nick which is swallowed by Dhoni. Two new batsmen at the crease.

LPC Silva c †Dhoni b Khan 59 (99m 68b 5x4 0x6) SR: 86.76

Sri Lanka 216/6   RP Arnold 0* (2b)   Z Khan 8.1-0-37-2
