Scorecard and ball-by-ball details

Namibia completed a comfortable victory over Kenya at the United Cricket Club Ground in Windhoek. Both teams have struggled in the competition; Namibia found themselves at seventh place at the end of the game and Kenya were one spot above.

Namibia chose to bowl but Kenya's initial response was good, with Alex Obanda smashing 71 at better than a run a ball, and adding 80 for the second wicket with Irfan Karim. The team was well placed at 113 for 2 at the start of the 20th over, but that's when the slide began. Obanda was dismissed by medium-pacer Christi Viljoen, who went on to take three wickets and was part of a collective bowling effort. Only captain Collins Obuya presented any resistance in the middle order, as three other Namibia bowlers - Louis Klazinga, Bernard Scholtz, and Ian Opperman - picked up two wickets each. Kenya lost eight wickets for 74, and folded for 187 in the 43rd over.

The Namibian chase began smoothly, with openers Opperman and Raymond van Schoor putting on 59 in 63 balls. They lost Van Schoor and Louis van der Westhuizen in quick succession but captain Sarel Burger and Craig Williams steadied the innings. After Opperman and Burger put on a half-century stand, Williams struck a fifty himself to help seal victory with eight overs to spare.

The next batch of the WCL Championship games are scheduled to start in March next year.
