Australia in West Indies ODI Series - 1st ODI

West Indies v Australia

Australia won by 64 runs

7.1

DJ Bravo to Watson, OUT, this time the umpire's given Watson lbw and Australia have asked for a review. It's quite similar to the appeal in Bravo's first over, which the umpire said was not out and West Indies reviewed unsuccessfully. Watson came half-forward to a delivery that nipped into him off the pitch. He was beaten on the front-foot defence and hit in front. The ball hit the pad in line and it wasn't too high either. That would have hit the top of middle and leg. Watson has to go. Both teams are a review down.

SR Watson lbw b DJ Bravo 21 (35m 23b 4x4 0x6) SR: 91.30

Australia 31/1   DA Warner 8* (20b)   DJ Bravo 3.1-0-20-1

23.2

Samuels to Forrest, OUT, breakthrough for West Indies. Forrest's struggles are over. He came down the pitch and the ball beat the outside to provide Baugh the chance of a simple stumping.

PJ Forrest st †Baugh b Samuels 26 (64m 64b 3x4 0x6) SR: 40.62

Australia 91/2   DA Warner 40* (53b 5x4)   MN Samuels 1.2-0-2-1

23.6

Samuels to Warner, OUT, gone! Superb catch from Pollard and two in the over for Samuels. Warner punched it off the back foot and Pollard flung himself low to his left at cover to grab it inches from the turf. Anything in the air near Pollard is always dangerous, he's an incredible fielder.

DA Warner c Pollard b Samuels 40 (103m 55b 5x4 0x6) SR: 72.72

Australia 92/3   MEK Hussey 1* (2b)   MN Samuels 2-0-3-2

26.3

Roach to DJ Hussey, OUT, West Indies right on top now. In the channel outside off from Roach, Hussey pushed without much footwork and got a thin edge to the keeper

DJ Hussey c †Baugh b Roach 0 (11m 7b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Australia 99/4   MEK Hussey 7* (10b)   KAJ Roach 5.3-0-15-1

42.6

DJ Bravo to MEK Hussey, OUT, caught at long-on! Hussey came out of his crease and lofted a length ball, it was the slower ball though and Hussey mis-timed the shot as a result, hitting it straight to Roach a few yards in from the boundary

MEK Hussey c Roach b DJ Bravo 32 (80m 57b 0x4 0x6) SR: 56.14

Australia 162/5   GJ Bailey 32* (52b 3x4)   DJ Bravo 7-1-37-2

43.1

Narine to Wade, OUT, Wade hasn't survived his first ball. Narine pitched the offbreak on a good length on middle and off stump, drawing the batsmen forward. He then spun it across the left-hander, inducing the outside edge as Wade tried to defend. Bravo took a low catch at first slip

MS Wade c DJ Bravo b Narine 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Australia 162/6   GJ Bailey 32* (52b 3x4)   SP Narine 8.1-0-18-1

48.1

Roach to Bailey, OUT, Bailey's fallen two short of a half-century on debut. He backed away towards leg to create room and hit on the off side. He ended up scooping the ball high in the air and the fielder from the cover-point boundary came in to take a well-judged catch

GJ Bailey c Narine b Roach 48 (91m 67b 5x4 0x6) SR: 71.64

Australia 195/7   DT Christian 15* (15b 2x4)   KAJ Roach 9.1-1-29-2

49.4

DJ Bravo to Lee, OUT, caught by Johnson Charles, who was running in from deep midwicket. Bravo delivered another slow offcutter that gripped the pitch, Lee was through his leg-side swing too early and mis-hit it high in the air. The fielder judged the catch well on the move

B Lee c Charles b DJ Bravo 5 (7m 5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 100.00

Australia 203/8   DT Christian 18* (19b 2x4)   DJ Bravo 9.4-1-58-3
