    • MEK Hussey 10 (24b 2x4)

    • D Bishoo 12-2-36-0

Australia still far from comfortable, still a long long way behind...

51.1

Bishoo to Hussey, 1 run, taken from outside off, swept out to deep square leg, via short leg's arm it would seem, ouchie

52.2

Roach to Clarke, no run, angled in, struck on the pad a huge cry for lbw, not out and they refer the decision, going down for me and Ian Gould...too high also, very comfortably missing the stumps and that's the Windies reviews used up. They haven't used either review well

Roach to Clarke, no run, full and blocked to mid on

52.4

Roach to Clarke, no run, length on off stump and blocked back to the bowler

52.5

Roach to Clarke, 3 runs, turned away from mid on, decent timing and they can take three with a brisk scamper as the ball runs out to cow corner

52.6

Roach to Hussey, 1 leg bye, back of a length, too straight, off the pad for extras behind square on the leg side

End of over 53 (4 runs) Australia 152/4

So drinks coming onto the ground with Australia having settled well after the early loss of Watson. West Indies have bowled well and plugged away but it might take something a little bit special to remove a quality set player on this deck but the hosts still on top...Sid will take you to tea...

End of over 56 (1 run) Australia 157/4

    • MEK Hussey 13 (43b 2x4)

56.4

Two slips, a gully, a short cover-point for Hussey

56.5

FH Edwards to Hussey, no run, length ball, starts outside off, angles away, left alone

56.6

FH Edwards to Hussey, no run, appeal for a catch at the wicket. It's a yorker, so they are checking for a bump ball. And we are checking with the TV umpire now. This one swings away from Hussey, but has bounced only after passing Hussey's bat. Not sure if he has even hit it, leave alone it being a bump ball. Rightly called not out

Sammy to Clarke, no run, length ball outside off, he moves forward, pushes it back to Sammy

"Got to get the fielders in there and under the batsman's nose. Who cares if Hussey sweeps again. 300 runs ahead and Aus are 4/169. Two wickets here and they'll knock Aus over here for under 300." I concur, Gags, but I am also afraid to say modern captains don't agree with us. Meanwhile Baugh comes up to the stumps to send Clarke back in

60.2

Sammy to Clarke, no run, sharp work by Baugh and there is a stumping referral. Sammy slips this down leg, not sure if it is a plan, Clarke seems to have overbalanced, and Baugh takes the bails off in a flash. The replays show it is very nearly a no-ball with Sammy's front foot, and Clarke never left the crease anyway

60.3

Just the sixty-seven runs in the session for the loss of one wicket. Just felt that West Indies let it drift a bit. The new ball shall reignite the contest. I won't be there to call it, though. Alex will. See you tomorrow. Have a good one

Deonarine to Clarke, 1 run, floated up, a skip down by Clarke who's used his feet very well throughout the innings, clipping to long on

3.55pm Good news...it's brightened up and we're back on...

"Based on Ian Harvey's hypothesis, would you drop Sachin Tendulkar from the team since he very much decides when to play and what tours to skip?" Yes Baiju I find the Tendulkar situation very silly. He should play every match or retire, maybe just from one-day cricket and then play all the Tests. But cricket is not football where you rotate your squad.

3.35pm The covers seem to be being peeled off and the outfield is being roped but it does still look very dark out in Barbados, even if the rain relents I think we could have light problems to come...

Fabulous debate going on on Sky Sports between Ian Harvey and Colin Croft. Would you bring Chris Gale straight back into the West Indies team if he settled his differences with the WICB? Croft would at the drop of a hat but Harvey says you can't pick and choose when to play for your country and the Windies youngsters deserve their chance. Hmmmm...I'm with Harvs I reckon...

3.15pm And now we have rain so the clouds do bring a delay, on come the covers...Tony Cozier reckons a half an hour delay...looks very dark at the moment...

78.1

Bishoo to Clarke, OUT, in the air and out! Big wicket as Clarke goes caught at deep mid off. He tried to be aggressive down the ground again but didn't get to the pitch and skied a top edge to Deonarine coming in off the rope, he got their in good time but juggled the chance slightly. Either way, the Australian captain is out and that could be a turning point

Bishoo to Wade, no run, bat pad but in front of the short leg, there was excitement for a while

More debate about the light...and now the players are going off, the conditions have seemed less than ideal for a while, West Indies weren't risking a fast bowler but now the umpires have decided it's too dark, probably for any further play today...indeed, stumps now so a 9.45am start tomorrow.

A real grinding day, particularly after tea when Michael Clarke went. He and Hussey were moving the innings on nicely but the innings really did stall when Wade came in. They are still a long way behind and wickets tomorrow for the West Indies could see them set up a winning position but the scoring rates throughout the game could hinder a result.

Today's report and reaction coming up but until tomorrow from me and my helpers, goodbye.

End of over 95 (4 runs) Australia 248/5

The new ball has been taken, and Fidel Edwards charges in

9.25am I know we are all talking of possibilities of how West Indies can avoid a draw, but on such a deteriorating wicket, a crazy third innings can't be ruled out either. This Test is full of possibilities right now. How we wish we hadn't lost all that time to rain and bad light. It is curious that we can't use flood lights here because we don't have flood lights available for all three Tests. The wisdom of that is up for debate. The footmarks remain dangerous on day four

9.20am Hello ad welcome to another early start in Barbados. West Indies will want early wickets this morning to deviate this match from the path of the draw. Barring some downright crazy happenings, Australia should save the follow-on here, which means West Indies - even if they get a significant lead - will have to bat again, and this will be a desperate race against time for them. And this is a deteriorating pitch, so they can't afford to be too carefree either, when they bat. This is Sidharth Monga, checking into what promises to be another interesting day of Test cricket

96.1

"It does actually make sense to have the same playing conditions for all 3 tests surely? The decision on going off for bad light was given to the umpires and away from the players to ensure same playing conditions for both teams. Is same principle with the lights too. And no, I am not from the ICC." Jimmy provides the other side of the argument

Roach to Hussey, OUT, Hussey loses the patience game. Australia still short of avoiding the follow-on. Roach goes wide of the crease, pitches on a length, around off, Hussey drives, is done in by the angle, and edges this low to the left of Baugh, whose exceptional Test with the gloves continues with this catch in front of him and way to his left

West Indies into the bowlers now. Can they eke out a big lead, and more importantly, crucial time by running through the tail? Here's Peter Siddle

98.3

Roach to Siddle, no run, welcomes fellow fast bowler with a bouncer at 141ks, Siddle ducks under it, pitched a little too short

98.4

Roach to Siddle, no run, short of a length, into the body, better delivery, brings short leg into play, but Siddle keeps this down

98.5

Roach to Siddle, no run, wide of the crease again, short of a length, rising this into the rib area, Siddle again manages to keep it down

98.6

Roach to Siddle, no run, short of a length again, but this time a little wide outside Australia, which is a good delivery for a lower-order batsman. Siddle follows it, and fails to edge it

End of over 99 (wicket maiden) Australia 249/6

    • PM Siddle 0 (4b)
    • MS Wade 19 (62b 2x4)
    • KAJ Roach 19-4-56-2

99.1

FH Edwards to Wade, no run, full, just outside off, Wade drives, but straight to mid-off

99.2

FH Edwards to Wade, 1 run, the follow-on is avoided. Length ball, pitches middle and off, Wade pokes, gets an inside edge, and runs a quick single

99.3

FH Edwards to Siddle, no run, short of a length, on the off line, Siddle gets right behind it and nowhere near the short leg

99.4

FH Edwards to Siddle, OUT, They have bounced Siddle out. From the moment he has arrived he has been pinged back and further back. West Indies are on fire here. Short again, Siddle sees it is well short, and thinks he can afford to take his eye off. while he is ducking he realises the ball hasn't bounced up at all, and he sticks his bat up. The ball spoons towards gully, where Edwards produced a diving catch to his right. Another man who has had a good Test in the field

Two runs and two wickets today. Ryan Harris is out to face some music
